Fresh off their EWC 2025 triumph, TheMongolZ are set to clash with North America’s Team Liquid in the FISSURE Playground 2 semi-final. For Liquid, it’s a final stand before roster changes — nothing to lose, but everything to prove. For TheMongolZ, it’s another chance to cement their dominance and capture back-to-back titles.
The last time these two teams met was at the BLAST Austin Major 2025, where TheMongolZ came out on top with a 13–8 victory in a best-of-one. But can they repeat that success in a high-stakes semi-final? We’ll find out soon enough.

Previous Encounter & Player Stats – TheMongolZ vs. Team Liquid

Team Form & Key Players Ahead of the Semi-final
TheMongolZ: Hungry for Another Trophy
Senzu once again became the best player in their quarter-final match against G2, showing his ability to stay consistent and be one of the team’s main star performers. The same goes for ‘bLitz,’ who once again was the second-best player of the game while also leading his team as in-game leader. Winning against G2, one of the main favorites, means they’re the only main favorites left at this tournament, and they’re in great shape to fight for their second trophy.
Team Liquid: Fighting With Nothing to Lose
Even though ‘Twistzz’ is leaving after this tournament, he stepped up as Liquid’s best performer, carrying them to victory against Aurora. His performance shows that, despite this being his final run with the team, he’s still ready to give everything for a win. ‘siuhy’ was just two frags behind ‘Twistzz’, which means that the in-game leader of Liquid is also in great shape. ‘NertZ’ was on the opposite side, having one of his worst games and a rating of 0.68, and the team will need him if they want to beat a better opponent. Overall, they looked good in their quarter-final match, but we have yet to see them against better teams.

TheMongolZ vs Liquid – Semi-final Prediction
Throughout the year, TheMongolZ consistently outperformed Liquid, who struggled to reach the same level of play. Liquid’s strong side here is that they have nothing to lose, as it’s their last tournament before roster changes, but The Mongolians are hungry and motivated to prove that they have everything to take their second big trophy. The individual form of the players is also on TheMongolZ side. We expect TheMongolZ to win this match.
Can Liquid surprise TheMongolZ and steal the Grand Final from them, or will TheMongolZ continue to dominate Liquid like they did all year? We will have to see this Saturday at 14:00 CET!
