AMKAL has officially benched its entire Counter-Strike 2 roster, including the coach, the organization confirmed on December 1, 2025. The decision follows a period of disappointing results, with the team winning just two of its last ten series.
In a short statement, AMKAL stated that the roster will remain inactive while the club “takes a pause until the end of the season to determine a new direction.” The announcement marks a full halt to the current project, leaving all players and staff moved to the bench.
AMKAL Roster Struggles
The roster was assembled in August 2025, built around notable names including Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov and Aleksandr “KaiR0N-” Anashkin. Despite the expectations attached to the lineup, AMKAL struggled from the outset, failing to achieve consistent results in online events or qualify for LAN tournaments.
In late September, the organization attempted to address the downturn by replacing Dmitry “sstiNiX” Khlebnikov and Artem “iDISBALANCE” Egorov with Aleksandr “KENSI” Gurkin and Yaqi “Moon” Yang. The change produced a short-term improvement, with AMKAL finishing second at OMEN Retake Season 11, but the momentum did not last.
Repeated failures to progress through key qualifiers, including attempts to reach CCT events, ultimately led to today’s full benching of the roster.
What’s Next for AMKAL?
AMKAL has not announced whether it plans to rebuild a new CS2 roster, temporarily pause its involvement in the scene, or explore alternative competitive structures. The organization stated only that further updates will come after internal evaluations are complete.
For now, the benched players remain under contract but inactive. There has been no public indication of transfer listings, interest from other organizations, or negotiations concerning individual departures.
