9INE has revealed that Danny ‘BERRY’ Krüger is now the head coach of the team. The Danish coach left SAW in October due to “different views on methodology and perspectives for the team.”
34-year-old ‘BERRY’ arrives in 9INE following a productive three-month period with SAW. The 34-year-old Dane, despite facing language challenges, played a key role in leading SAW to an impressive top-four finish at IEM Cologne 2024, and shortly thereafter helped the team secure qualification for Perfect World Shanghai Europe RMR with ease, which ultimately led to the organization achieving its highest ranking of No. 9 in the world.
Regarding the organization ‘BERRY’ that is joining, 9INE made their mark in 2023 as their Polish roster, which included Olek ‘hades’ Miskiewicz, climbed the global rankings due to consistent online success. However, that team faced challenges in translating their performance to LAN events against top-tier teams, leading to the dissolution of the roster once the core members were transferred to ENCE.
After trying out different Polish lineups at the beginning of 2024 without any success, 9INE assembled a European team that included players such as Ismail ‘refrezh’ Ali, Mateusz ‘mantuu’ Wilczewski, and Kévin ‘misutaaa’ Rabier.
The team struggled in Europe’s online competitions during the second half of the year, achieving only modest results overall. At the close of the year, they decided to dismiss their coach and put two players on the bench, replacing them with Jonatan ‘bobeksde’ Persson and Josef ‘faveN’ Baumann.
