The BLAST.tv Austin Major playoff stage kicks off on June 19, with the Grand Final set for June 22. Eight teams qualified for the playoff through the previous stages, and now they will have to fight in a single-elimination bracket for the prize pool of $1,25 million. Team Spirit is here to protect its major champion title and Vitality, the best team in the world, will be looking to take it off them.

Favorites and Underdogs
Even though Vitality lost their 30-match win streak in their Stage 3 opening match against Legacy, they still remain the main favorite to win this tournament. After the loss, they showed that it wasn’t that much for them, and they won three games in a row after that.
Spirit is the second main favorite to win the whole event, but with such brackets and team distribution, they will have to fight MOUZ first, who has been an uncomfortable opponent for Spirit lately. If both Spirit and Vitality make it through their first matches, they will face each other in the semi-final.
Natus Vincere was the best team of 2024, but this year, they aren’t doing that great, and they’re yet to prove that they can reach that level again. Unfortunately for them, they will start their Playoff Stage with a match against the best team in the world, Vitality. If they manage to win against them, it will make them the favorites together with Team Spirit.
FaZe had some ups and downs throughout a few stages that they’ve played. Still, they got a good chance to make it to the Grand Final with their place in the bracket, playing against TheMongolZ in their opening match. They already won against them at Stage 3, and then playing against either FURIA or paiN, who we would call underdogs of this Playoff Stage.
