After more than two weeks of epic CS2 matches, the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 came to an end. In our Playoff Stage overview, we talked about some of the hottest upcoming matches, and we were definitely not disappointed. Now that the dust has settled, let’s dive in and see what actually happened.

    Team Vitalty’s Triumph

Following the deadly Group Stage, it was time for the best CS2 teams to advance to the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025’s Playoffs. Every single clash here was amazing to watch, but after the first 2 rounds, Team Vitality and The MongolZ defeated everyone else.

Vitality faced Natus Vincere and MOUZ prior to reaching the Grand Final, whereas The MongolZ played against FURIA and paiN Gaming. Interestingly, MongolZ did not lose a single map prior to the Final, whereas Vitality lost on Inferno against MOUZ.

The Grand Final between these two was a classic Bo3 deathmatch that started on Mirage. Surprisingly or not, MongolZ defeated Team Vitality fairly easily, which meant it was time for Dust 2. Most people expected Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren and the rest to do the same again, but Vitality ripped through their opponents and won with a score of 13-4.

The deciding match was on Inferno, the same map where Vitality lost against MOUZ in the Semifinals. Lucky for Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and the rest, the same did not happen again. Team Vitality was way better than last time and defeated MongolZ with 13-6, claiming the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 trophy.

    Interesting Statistics & Closing Thoughts

Every CS2 Major brings together millions from around the world, but some competitions attract more people than the rest. Well, it seems like BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 was one of them because the stats from Escharts show that it became the most-watched Counter-Strike tournament ever, at least in terms of total Hours Watched. What’s even more impressive is that the event achieved this before the Grand Final. Prior to acquiring the record, this honor belonged to the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which had 71.2M.

Now that the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is over, Counter-Strike 2 fans will have to prepare for the next big event – FISSURE Playground #1. This competition will take place between July 15 and 20 in Belgrade, Serbia. Don’t forget to follow Blix.gg for more information!
