Introduction
Counter-Strike recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, but Valve did not hold any special events to mark the occasion. However, rumors indicate that the first CS2 operation may be in the works.
Counter-Strike 2‘s highly mechanical nature means that players do not expect or need regular updates to the map pool or in-game inventory. However, the occasional operations released every other year are a nice addition to the fast-paced shooter.
It has been nearly three years since Valve last released an update or operation for its flagship title.
Leakers claimed Valve was saving a big update for the game’s 25th anniversary on June 19, but it didn’t happen. Data in the game files suggests the developer is actively working on new content for the first CS2operation.
What will be included in the first CS2 operation?
According to a reliable source Gabe Follower, CS2 might receive new in-game cosmetics such as key chains, customizable agents, and new maps.
Shattered Web was the most unique CS:GO operation yet, introducing the first female character, Eva. Players are anticipating a similar experience in the next operation, with promising leaks.
CS:GO Female Character – Eva
According to leaked information, the game’s string code suggests that keychains may be introduced as cosmetics, giving enthusiasts another item to obsess over.
Keychains would be small charms that can be attached to a weapon, working as separate entities.
A data file suggests that a twin-blade knife will also be available in the upcoming case. It’s a simple dagger-style knife with a split in the middle of the blade.
In light of the speculation surrounding a new skin case, it seems plausible that it could contain an extraordinary and uncommon item, possibly a new twin-blade knife.
CS2 – Kukri Knife
Valve has recently unveiled the Kukri knife, which is available in the Kilowatt case. It’s interesting to note that Gabe Follower was the first to discover this new addition within the game’s code.
A recent find revealed a list of maps for CS2, with leaks suggesting that the new operation may feature five maps: Thero, Memento, Pool Day, Assembly, and Mills.
Even though these maps won’t be added to the competitive pool, players are excited about Pool Day’s potential return to the game. Pool Day was a popular bomb defusal map in CS 1.6, featuring a unique pool gimmick.
There is a possibility of customizable agent skins for certain game modes, which has been controversial due to the potential for blending in with backgrounds. This also hints at a new game mode with interactive pets and unique agent skins.
When is the CS2 operation release date?
The first CS2 operation was expected to be released on June 19, as Valve likes to commemorate game anniversaries. However, leakers claim the new operation could still drop anytime this week.
