Virtus.pro has announced the completion of their signing of Kazakh AWPer Kaisar ‘ICY’ Faiznurov from Cloud9. The 19-year-old has inked a contract that will bind him to the organization until 2028 and will assume the AWPing role from Dzhami ‘Jame’ Ali, who was placed on the bench at the conclusion of the season.
‘ICY’ is the second player to join Virtus.pro during the off-season, following the signing of Timur ‘FL4MUS’ Marev from GamerLegion. The Russian rifler has taken the spot left vacant by the benching of David ‘n0rb3r7’ Danielyan.
Previously with AMKAL, ‘ICY’ played for Cloud9 during the latter part of the season. Although the team’s performance was average, he made notable contributions, particularly in LAN matches, where he achieved an impressive average rating of 1.22.
Virtus.pro has not disclosed what the future holds for the in-game leader position, but it is speculated that Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov will be taking over. The Russian player is familiar with the role, having led during his time with Natus Vincere and Cloud9.
‘ICY’ will join his new teammates for a training camp after the New Year in preparation for BLAST Bounty Season 1, set to commence on January 13.
