It seems like Emil “Magisk” Reif will join Asatralis once again after Team Falcons benched him. The legendary player was a part of the team between 2018 and 2021, during which he won three Major titles, as well as many other Tier 1 events.

Magisk is Back with Astralis
One of the reasons why Astralis decided to add Magisk to their roster is Martin “stavn” Lund’s decision to step back from the starting lineup. While we do not know the exact reasons why this happened (more about it below), it seems to be related to his health.
Astralis confirmed their new signing on X, after which Magisk said that the team means a lot to him. He also mentioned his motivation to contribute to the team’s future development.
Why did Magisk Leave Falcons?
As mentioned, one of the reasons why Magisk decided to join Astralis is because Falcons benched him. Interestingly, the player and his previous team achieved good results, such as a second place at PJL-Club Napoca 2025, BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 and a few other events. The team even won the PGL Bucharest 2025.
Sadly, even these results were not enough to keep Magisk in the active roster. The organization decided to bench him after signing Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin. The young talent seems to have a promising future ahead of him and the Falcons decided to rely on him in the future.
Interestingly, Falcons thanked Magisk for his contribution once it became clear that he will play for Astralis. It will be interesting to see how this change will affect the team’s performance at FISSURE Playground 2. The latter will take place in November.
Why is stavn no Longer a Part of Astralis?
As mentioned, Magisk steps in after stavn decided to step down from CS2. According to him, he needed a break and he also said that “health comes first and he will take some time off to deal with personal things”.
Following the roster change, Astralis’s fans seem to be happy that they will see a familiar face back in action. Old-school fans remember his glorious years with the club, but we will have to wait and see if he will live up to the expectations.
