Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač has signed with Falcons, marking the beginning of their rebuild for 2025 and concluding a year-long effort to secure his signature.
Following strong connections with the Saudi organization in 2023, ‘NiKo’ turned down Falcons in a remarkable change of heart. However, this year, Falcons made another attempt, and Danny ‘zonic’ Sørensen’s determination has resulted in success.
‘NiKo’ has ranked among the top five players in the world on six separate occasions and has earned 8 MVP awards along with 49 EVP awards, yet he has not been able to secure a Major title even after teaming up with the prodigy Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov.
To achieve that objective, he will join forces with five-time Major champion ‘zonic’ and four-time winner Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif, creating a seasoned core consisting of the top Opener, Anchor, and Coach of 2023.
Following a challenging 2024 in which they failed to qualify for both Majors, Falcons are counting on NiKo’s exceptional talent to breathe new life into the often-criticized project.
The last three players expected to join the Falcons’ roster are likely to be from HEROIC: in-game leader Damjan ‘kyxsan’ Stoilkovski, AWPer Abdul ‘degster’ Gasanov, and rifler René ‘TeSeS’ Madsen.
The acquisition will elevate Falcons to the eighth position in the Valve Global Standings, guaranteeing them invitations to all major events in early 2025. ‘NiKo’ is poised to make his first appearance with Falcons at the BLAST Bounty on January 12.
