PARIVISION has decided to transition its head coach, Ivan ‘F_1N’ Kochugov, to the inactive roster. This significant move comes just a few weeks ahead of the highly anticipated Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe Regional Major Ranking event, raising questions about the team’s strategy and preparation for the competition.
The announcement reveals that the decision to make a change was reached collaboratively with the 41-year-old individual, who has been part of the organization since June. His contributions were instrumental in helping the team secure a spot in the Regional Major Rankings, an achievement he will unfortunately now be unable to participate in.
‘F_1N’ found himself at the heart of the debate regarding PARIVISION’s RMR qualification, as it was thought that he was under a permanent ban from Valve Majors due to his involvement with the notorious coach bug.
The coach appeared in a now-deleted celebratory video with the team after their qualifying match, violating Valve’s rules against team staff being present during matches. This normally would result in a warning, but it led to PARIVISION’s disqualification because of ‘F_1N’s perceived Valve ban.
The disqualification was overturned after Valve was informed of a successful appeal by ‘F_1N’ to the Independent Appeals Panel of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). This appeal, aimed at reducing his punishment, had been decided months earlier, but the results had not been disclosed to the public or communicated to Perfect World or Valve at the time of the decision.
PARIVISION’s spot at the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMR has been reinstated, but coach ‘F_1N’ will miss the event. Since he was registered as the team’s coach, any replacement won’t be allowed to join them in matches in China.
PARIVISION is set to face off against HEROIC in an eagerly anticipated opening match of the Europe RMR B tournament on November 20. This clash promises to be an exciting start to the competition, showcasing the skills of both teams as they vie for an early advantage.
