PGL has revealed more information about their upcoming tournament calendar, confirming that CS2 will make a comeback in Cluj-Napoca in 2026, along with two tier-one events planned for February and March 2027.
The PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 event is scheduled for February 9-23 at BTarena, with 16 teams invited through the VRS. These teams will vie for the majority of a $1,250,000 prize pool. The events for 2027 are planned for February 8-22 and March 16-29.
The announcement also mentioned a revision to PGL’s rulebook. The new rule specifies that “a team will not receive an invitation if they accepted the previous invitation for a PGL event they were qualified for but did not attend.”
The newly implemented rule is likely intended to penalize teams that pull out of PGL events at the last minute. Recently, FURIA retracted from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 a little more than a week prior to the event, with Imperial Valkyries stepping in as their replacement.
PGL Announcement
The calendar is starting to get busy with the addition of two more events for 2027. The PGL event scheduled for February 8-22 overlaps with FISSURE’s initial event for 2027, which will take place from February 9-22.
