PGL Announcement
The competition will feature 12 teams selected through the VRS, while four additional teams will qualify, with one team each from Europe, South America, North America, and Asia.
Each region will have four open qualifiers, with Asia being split into sub-regions. These qualifiers will lead into one closed qualifier per region, which will occur in two stages.
Typically, eight teams will move from the open qualifiers to the closed qualifiers; however, this number could vary based on how many teams receive direct invitations to the closed qualifiers.
Every open qualifier will implement a single-elimination format with best-of-one matches, except for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, which will feature best-of-three matches.
The structure and quantity of qualifiers in Asia may change based on the number of teams that accept direct invitations to the closed qualifiers.
All qualifiers will take place online, except for the second round of the Asia closed qualifier, which will occur on LAN at the MESA Asia Masters in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
