GamerLegion has announced the acquisition of Fredrik ‘REZ’ Sterner, a long-time fixture at Ninjas in Pyjamas. The 26-year-old became part of the organization in 2017 and was the final connection to their former glory alongside players like Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg and Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund.
The Swedish rifler experienced multiple roster changes within Ninjas in Pyjamas, adapting from a Swedish team to an international lineup. His last notable trophy was at IEM Fall 2021 Europe, but his standout moment came in 2017 at IEM Oakland, where he was named MVP during the championship run.
GamerLegion is undergoing a restructuring ahead of the upcoming season while aiming for a more aggressive style of play after the departure of Timur ‘FL4MUS’ Marev and the decision to bench Sebastian ‘volt’ Maloș. The team has added ‘REZ’ following the recruitment of rising Czech talent Oldřich ‘PR’ Nový, creating a mix of youth and experience.
REZ’s move will bring experience to a team that typically depends on emerging talent, and it will connect the Swedish player with fellow countryman Erik ‘ztr’ Gustafsson, who was temporarily promoted from Young Ninjas to Ninjas in Pyjamas’s main roster in 2021.
Fans can look forward to seeing ‘REZ’ compete for GamerLegion soon, as they will participate in the online segment of BLAST Bounty Season 1 from January 14-18, with an opportunity to reach the LAN finals. Additionally, they are scheduled to attend IEM Katowice’s Stage 1 from January 29-31.
