People were patiently waiting for the latest CS2 update, and it finally arrived. Valve adjusted many elements of several maps from the Active Duty pool. The new update also included several other changes, so let’s take a look at all of them.
CS2 Update
If we take a closer look at the latest CS2 update, we can see that several maps received changes. Inferno was the one most affected, but Overpass and Train also received something new.
Starting with Inferno, Valve changed the batch between Church and Coffins located on the B side. Alongside these changes, the Church window that faced the site will now be open. This will allow defenders to have an advantage and additional opportunities to retake control. Aside from that, the changes to Inferno also include the extension of the rail that is near the balcony on the A side.
Moving on to Train, the map also received small changes. Valve added new boxes inside the B hall to provide extra cover for the defending team. The overpass also received small changes near the A side.
Besides the changes to the map, the Counter-Strike 2 update also added different animation updates. In fact, the game’s entire animation system will be upgraded to AnimGraph2, which should make it much better overall. The changes allow us to have new first-person animations, special weapon deploy, firing, and so on.
The CS2 Update’s Effect on Esports
Since the latest CS2 patch changed some of the fan-favorite maps, it’s no surprise that it will affect the esports scene. Teams will have to adjust to the changes and devise new strategies if they wish to be successful.
Since Inferno received the most changes, it will also be the map where teams need to step up their game. The new tactics could increase the map’s popularity. The same is true for Train and Overpass.
Keep in mind that these map changes will not affect the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne. The matches will be played on the previous patch, so teams don’t have to worry about adjusting to the changes.
