David ‘n0rb3r7’ Danielyan has been placed on the bench by Virtus.pro, as announced by the Russian organization on Saturday.
The recent change has reduced VP to three players following the dismissal of long-time captain Dzhami ‘Jame’ Ali; if there are additional changes, the team will forfeit their Valve Ranking points.
Given that such a prospect is improbable, the team is now focusing on rebuilding around Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov, Evgenii ‘FL1T’ Lebedev, and Petr ‘fame’ Bolyshev, while leaving room to add an AWPer and an in-game leader.
This is the second occasion that ‘n0rb3r7’ has been sidelined from the team, with the first instance occurring after the poor choice to substitute him with Aleksandr ‘KaiR0N-‘ Anashkin just a few months following ‘n0rb3r7’ becoming a Major champion at IEM Rio in late 2022.
‘n0rb3r7’ made a dramatic return to the team midway through the Paris Major RMR five months later, and he stayed with the team for the subsequent 18 months.
