Alter Ego in-game leader Hyun-Pyo ‘XigN’ Lee has announced that he will be stepping away from competition to begin his compulsory military service as required by South Korean law. ‘XigN’ recently participated in the Asia RMR, where he was unable to achieve his goal of qualifying for a Major. Alter Ego finished in 7th-8th place at the regional tournament after losing to The MongolZ and Lynn Vision.
‘XigN’ has been a professional player in Counter-Strike for nearly ten years. He started participating in international competitions in 2016 with MVP Project. His MVP PK team was just one victory shy of qualifying for the StarLadder Major but fell short in three qualifying matches against TYLOO, North, and INTZ.
Facing limited opportunities in his home country after many players transitioned to VALORANT, ‘XigN’ sought his fortune in international CS, competing for BTRG, NG, and NKT before joining Alter Ego.
