We take a look at some of the most unusual Dota 2 builds worth checking out in Patch 7.33c.

We all know the Dota 2 Patch 7.33 was like nothing we have seen before. Besides changing the game as we know it, the patch also gave us access to tons of interesting item builds that are extremely strong right now. It will be tough to include all of them in this article, but we'll try to share more information about the Dota 2 Patch 7.33c unusual builds you should be aware of.

Interestingly, you can see some of them in action at the ongoing Tour 3 of the 2023 DPC. We already know the results of Week 1, but Week 2 is almost over soon, meaning there are just a couple of days left before we learn the names of the teams who'll participate in the Bali Major.

Before sharing more info about these builds, it's worth knowing the 7.33c patch impacted some of them. Nevertheless, they remain good in the current meta, so you can use them while playing.

Windranger in the safe lane

When you hear Windrager, you're probably thinking of one of the most annoying mid-laners/offlaners or a position 4 support. Although the hero has had a role in each of these positions over the years, nowadays, things are different.

After playing for a while, one of the Dota 2 Patch 7.33c Unusual builds involves Windranger and the safelane. However, instead of being a support, the hero is the team's carry.

Before you close the article, we'd like to share this has been one of the most dominant builds in the current meta. Sure, it sounds weird, but with the right item build, Windranger can be a monster.

During the laning stage, Windranger needs to max her W because this is the ability that accelerates her farm and nuke capabilities. Therefore, depending on the lane, she may have to put more than one point in her E.

In terms of the items she can go for, most people focus on getting Maestlrom as fast as possible. After that, players go for an Aghanim's Scepter and finish their Gleipnir. Once these 2 big items are done, Windranger can easily solo kill anyone from the enemy team in a 1v1 situation.

Legion Commander as a carry

If we look at the Dota 2 stats after 7.33, we can see Legion Commander is one of the most interesting heroes in the game. Besides being a popular offlaner, one of the Dota 2 Patch 7.33c unusual builds we've seen in the last couple of days includes the hero in the safe lane.

Having a carry LC is nothing new because some people have been using this Dota 2 hero in this position for many years. However, the new item build makes her incredibly strong, especially if you want to "farm" as much Duel damage as possible.

Legion Commander is a good laner who can go against almost anything. As with all carries, LC's job is to get as many last hits as possible and clear the stacks once ready. Securing Duel damage during this part of the game is a bonus, but it depends on the picks.

Regarding the items for this Dota 2 patch 7.33c unusual build, most people go for Maesltorm because it allows them to farm faster. However, once that's ready, Legion Command usually goes straight for a Mjollnir, followed by a Blink Dagger. The latter is a must because it lets LC engage in fights much easier.

After the Blink Dagger, LC players should get an Aghanim's Scepter and an Octarine Core. The latter may seem strange, but it allows the hero to be way tankier than before and has a lower cooldown on her Duel. Speaking of the ult, if the game is going well, LC should have tons of damage by now.

Depending on the game's stage, LC can get a Diffusal Blade, Overwhelming Blink, and several other things.

Physical Damage for Venomancer

When discussing the Dota 2 patch 7.33c unusual builds, we must include the physical damage build for Venomancer. Some players have been using a similar build in the previous patches, but it was never strong. Consequently, Venomancer has always been a weird pick which only worked in specific situations. Fortunately, the latest Dota 2 patch changed a lot of things about the game, so we have access to a physical damage build for Venomancer.

To start off, the hero needs to get Power Treads because it allows it to be tankier and use the extra mana when needed. Next, Dota 2 players usually pick Maelstorm and Dragon Lance. Then, it's time for Gleipnir and Butterfly. These 2 items cost tons of gold, so you may need at least 10 minutes to get them.

By this point, Venomancer should deal insane amounts of physical damage. His Venomous Gale, in combination with tons of attack speed, allows him to be extremely dangerous. If the game isn't over yet, you can go for a Monkey King Bar, Black King Bar (you need this item versus some drafts), and so on.

Abaddon's insane movement speed slow

If you want to get a Dota 2 hero who will allow you to be one of the game's most annoying players, you can look at this unusual Abaddon item build. The hero is usually played as a support, but to make the most of this build, you must be a carry.

The idea behind it is to get as much movement speed slow as possible. Aside from being annoying, this will allow you to chase any target and kill it in no time. The only downside of this Dota 2 patch 7.33c unusual build is that Abaddon is not the fastest farming hero in the game, so he will need some time to come online.

In terms of items, the hero requires a Blink Dagger, Manta Style, Radiance, Eye of Skadi, Assault Cuirass, and Butterly. Of course, having an Abaddon carry will only work in specific scenarios, so check whether some of his biggest counters are present.
