Team Liquid decided to join the list of Dota 2 teams with roster changes after the end of TI14 by adding Marucs “Ace” Hoelgaard and Erik “tOfu” Engel to its roster. Here is what you need to know about the changes.
Team Liquid Waved Goodbye to SabeRLighT- and iNsania before adding tOfu and Ace
Prior to the roster change, Team Liquid decided to part ways with Jonas “SabeRLighT-” Volek, as well as Aydin “iNsania” Sarkohi. The latter was very emotional because iNsania has been a part of Liquid for many years, but the player decided to retire.
Since the new Dota 2 season has already started, Liquid had to make quick changes and add new players to its roster. That’s the reason why the organization announced the addition of two new players – Ace and tOfu.
Ace will join the team following his adventure with Gaimin Gladiators. As you are aware, there is an ongoing controversy surrounding GG’s lawsuit against its players following the events at TI14.
After adding these two players, Team Liquid’s current roster is as follows:
- Micke “miCKe” Vu
- Michal “Nisha” Jankowski
- Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard
- Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
- Erik “tOfu” Engel
Team Liquid in the new Dota 2 Season
Despite the fact that Team Liquid was one of the big favorites for TI 2025, the team made many mistakes. After the disappointing result, the squad ended in 9th-13th place, which is one of the reasons for the drastic roster change.
With Ace and toFu on the team, Liquid looks a lot more challenging on paper and will do what it can to win many events. The team will play in the upcoming FISSURE Universe: Episode 7, as well as BLAST Slam IV, and the PGL Wallachia Season 6. We should also see the team in action at DreamLeague Season 27 and BLAST Slam V.
