BLAST Slam VI Dota 2 – Dates and Location
BLAST, the Danish tournament organizer, announced that the company’s next Dota 2 tournament will be in Malta. The sixth installment in the series will take place between February 3 and 15, 2026. Teams that attend the competition will be happy to know that there will be a $1000 prize pool.
The news about BLAST’s newest event comes just a few days after the end of BLAST Slam IV in Singapore. We had the chance to watch a lot of epic matches, but Tundra Esports was above the rest and lifted the trophy. We can safely say that this was one of the most epic BLAST Slam Grand Finals, and it was also the first one to take place in front of a live audience.
In terms of the format, BLAST Slam V will have the same format as BLAST Slam IV. We will see a Group Stage where teams will play in a Bo1 format. The best two squads from each group will go to the Playoffs semifinals, whereas those who finish between 3rd and 8th will advance to the Playoffs.
We’ll also have access to the Last Chance Playoffs, where the winning teams will have the opportunity to advance to the Play-In stage.
Teams Attending BLAST Slam VI Malta
Keep in mind that BLAST Slam has another Dota 2 event prior to the one in Malta, and it will take place in Chengdu, China. We already have information about some of the teams that will attend, and these are the following:
- Team Falcons
- MOUZ
- HEROIC
- Tundra Esports
Alongside them, we will see 4 additional teams that will qualify based on their performance. The Americas Dota 2 region will receive a direct invite, but we are yet to see which team will make it. BLAST Slam V will feature three additional teams that will attend the event following the qualifiers in China, SEA, and Europe.
BLAST Slam VI Tournament Format
There will also be an Open Qualifier that will be held between January 2 and 3. Once they’re over, we’ll also have the chance to watch the Closed Qualifiers, which will be between January 4-5.
Overall, we can safely say that 2026 will have a solid start for all Dota 2 fans. We expect to see epic matches, so make sure to follow Blix.gg for more details.
