Most people agree that the Dota 2 ‘Wandering Waters’ update gave us access to some of the biggest changes in the game so far. After looking at all of the new general and item changes, the Blix.gg team decided to focus on the heroes. There’s much to discuss here, so let’s dive in.

Dota 2 Patch 7.38 Hero Changes
Considering the size of the new Dota 2 update, it is no surprise that almost all heroes in the game received some kind of change. As you can guess, it is impossible to include everything because the article will be too long. That’s why we will share more details about some of the heroes who received more changes than the rest.
Alchemist

It seems like the Dota 2 7.38 meta will make sure that Alchemist could be a popular pick. The hero received several important changes that you need to know:
- Greevil’s Greed’s Facet will now give +75 GPM for each Aghs that Alch gives to his allies. Speaking of giving Aghs, this will only be possible within the 600 range.
- Acid Spray’s radius is now lower than before, but it applies 1 Corrosive Weaponary stack when it does damage.
- Unstable Concoction will also apply 1 Corrosive Weaponary stack per second of brew time.
- Corrosive Weaponary will now apply 2 stacks per attack, and the max stack is 16. Each stack slows the targets’ movement speed and attack damage by 3%.
- Chemical Rage’s Bonus MS is now down to 40 on level 3 instead of 60.
Arc Warden

It seems like Arc Warden received some of the biggest changes following the new Dota 2 update. There is a lot to talk about here, so let’s highlight some of the important changes.
- Arc Warden is now a universal hero, so his starting stats are a bit different.
- The hero has two new Facets. The first one is Runed Replica, and it allows Tempest Double to get a rune for 10 seconds after it shows up. The runes are as follows – Invisibility on level 1, Invis + Arcane on level 2, and Invis + Arcane + Haste on level 3. The second Facet is Power Capture, and it allows Arc to get +1.5 for all attributes when activating any power rune (the buff is permanent). Additionally, the magnetic field can pull runes towards it, which will activate once they get inside.
- Flux and Spark Wraith have the same effect for both the Tempest Double and Arc Warden.
- Speaking of the Tempest Double, the cooldown is now 60/55/50s instead of 100/90/80s, but the duration is 18/21/24s instead of 60s. Also, the unit will spawn with Warden’s same HP and Mana.
- Tempest Double will no longer restart the ability cooldown if it is killed.
Bloodseeker
The next interesting hero in the Dota 2 7.38 meta is Bloodseeker. Here’s what is new about him:
- The Bloodrush Facet will allow Thirst to double the healing from Sanguivore when it is active. Also, the bonus MS is up to 24% from 16% on level 4, and the bonus MS while on CD is now 50% instead of 0%.
- Sanguivore can now be upgraded by an Aghanim’s Shard and Scepter. The first will allow all of Bloodseeker’s overheal to create a damage barrier of up to 50% of his maximum HP (this barrier will decay by 1.5% per second). As for the Scepter, Bloodseeker will gain 30% lifesteal from all pure damage.
- Bloodrage can only be upgraded by an Agh Scepter (no Shard). When you get the item, attacks that are made under the effect of Bloodrange will deal 3% of the target’s max HP as pure damage.
- Blood Rite now does 255 instead of 340 damage on level 4, but it is pure instead of magical.
Chaos Knight

Despite not having that many buffs and nerfs, the recent Dota 2 patch gave Chaos Knight two new Facets.
- Fundamental Forging gives CK the option to get 2 Artifact tiers for his current tier-neutral item when he crafts it and to have 2 Artifacts of his choice for the next tier.
- Cloven Chaos is the 2nd new Facet, and it will allow Chaos Bolt to split in half when it hits a target. The ability will stun an additional enemy and damage another one that is close by.
- Speaking of Chaos Bolt, the cast range is now 600 instead of 500.
- Chaos Strike will no longer deal bonus damage to creeps, and its critical minimum is now 120% instead of 125%. As for the maximum, it is 260% instead of 245% on level 4.
Crystal Maiden
The Dota 2 Patch 7.38 also gave Crystal Maiden two new facets and changed some of her abilities.
- Arcane Overflow is the first new facet that allows Arcane Aura to be activated and give CM a 35% Spell Amp. Furthermore, all allied heroes will receive 25% of the mana they use while the ability is on. Arcane Aura will last for 10 seconds, but the mana cost for her abilities will be up by 50%. Remember that the duration of the ability will be paused while using the Freezing Field.
- The second new facet is the Glacial Guard. When used, it will give Crystal Nova a 100+ radius and grant all ally heroes affected by it a barrier that absorbs 130 damage. CM herself will get 2x that barrier.
- CM’s Blueheart Floe will now level up alongside Freezing Field. The Mana regen AMP is now 25/50/75/100% instead of 50%.
- Crystal Nova will slow for 4s instead of 5s.
- CM’s level 10 talent gives +12 INT instead of +100 Crystal Nova AoE.
Dawnbreaker

Dawnbreaker is among the PUB stompers that many people rely on when playing. As expected, Valve decided to change many important things, so let’s see what’s new.
- Starsurge Facet – Starbreaker’s final Smash will allow allied units to get a 9/12/15/18 bonus AS for each Starbreaker’s swipe or smash that hits an enemy hero. The buff itself will last 4s, and Dawnbreaker will receive 15/21/27/33 AS.
- Trailblazer is the 2nd new Facet, and it allows Celestial Hammer to provide 10/15/20/25% MS to Dawnbreaker and her allies when they walk on the hammer’s fire trail and 1s after going away.
- Starbreaker’s Aganim Shard MS penalty is now 35% instead of 25%.
- Solar Guardian’s Aghanim Scepter now allows the pulsing aura to last for 3s after the hero lands and follows her around. Solar Guardian’s heal per pulse is also increased by 10/15/20 and reduces the channel and air time.
- Dawnbreaker also has different talent changes.
Conclusion
If you take a look at the complete Dota 2 changelog, you will see that many other heroes also received a lot of changes. Our team decided to focus on some of the more interesting changes for now, but we will make sure to include Part 2 with the other options. Don’t forget to follow Blix.gg for more information.
