The offlaner is one of the most critical roles in the game, no matter if you play PUBs or Pro games. Like all other roles, the 7.39 Dota 2 patch changed many top-tier heroes. Some have become much better than others, so it’s time to look at those that stand out.
Before checking our Dota 2 Patch 7.39b offlane hero tier list, read the complete review of everything new in the last patch. There might be changes in the future, but let’s take a look at some of the hottest options right now.

Dota 2 Patch 7.39 b Offlane Hero Tier List
Offlaners are crucial for every team, regardless of the pick. These heroes have a very hard time in the laning stage, and they also have to provide space for their allies. Moreover, offlaners can also become the team’s main cores (depending on the situation.
We tried using all kinds of different options, and after keeping an eye on DreamLeague Season 26, we came up with the current offlane patch 7.39 Tier List:
- S+: Legion Commander, Phoenix, Underlord, Clockwerk
- S: Slardar, Underlord, Brewmaster, Abaddon, Dark Seer,
- A: Tudehunter, Earthshaker, Enigma
- B: Mars, Omniknight
- C: Slardar
- F: Timbersaw
Legion Commander
Even though Legion Commander did not get that many changes in the most recent patch, the hero remains one of the most solid options for the offlane. At the time of writing, LC has a more than 54% win rate, making it one of the most successful Dota 2 heroes overall.
The reason why Legion Commander is so strong is because of her lane presence. She can lane against almost anything and do exceptionally well. On top of that, LC is also one of the best snowballing heroes in the game. Duel is incredibly efficient against elusive targets, allowing her to deal insane damage.
Sure, LC has a lot of counters, but if you pick the hero at the right time, you can easily dominate the enemy’s carry. Generally speaking, the longer the game, the more LC snowballs, so she’s extremely dangerous.
Phoenix
Generally speaking, Phoenix is one of the offlane heroes who do not get that many changes when a new patch arrives. Considering his overall effectiveness, however, we believe the hero reserves to be on our Dotar 2 patch 7.39b offlaner hero tier list.
If we look at the last big update, we can see that 7.39 buffed his Hotspot Sun Ray Max Damage and heal to 160% instead of 150%. Moreover, Supernova’s Stun duration level 20 talent is up from 0.5s to 0.6s. Although these two buffs do not seem that significant, they “cemented” the hero as one of the best options for the offlane.
Nowadays, Phoenix’s win rate is slightly above 51%, meaning he is a solid pick in most setups. The hero is a good option to have when you are playing against opponents with low attack speed and/or squishy targets. People often underestimate his damage output, but Phoenix can be very annoying.
Underlord
Before the 7.39b Dota 2 patch, Underlord was in our S tier, and Dark Seer was an S+ hero. However, since the latter received serious nerfs, we’ve decided to switch things up, which is why Underlord is the next name on our list.
Overall, he has always been a solid choice for offlaner players looking to win the lane. Underlord may not have the highest kill potential early on, but he is incredibly hard to deal with. He’s hard to kill, does insane damage, and can farm quickly. An interesting fact is that some people even use him as a carry, but he (usually) goes in the offlane.
A quick look at the newest patch shows that Underlord got three big buffs. The first one is to Demon’s Reach because Athrophy Aura no longer loses cleave on death. As for Abyssal Horde, the Demoic Warrior and Archer damage type has been changed, making them slightly more efficient. Alongside these buffs, 7.39b upgrade Fiend’s Gate, and the ult now costs 175 instead of 200 mana.
Underlord’s current win rate is 48%, but it is steadily on the rise.
Clockwerk
Speaking of a 48% win rate, Clockwerk is the last name on our Dota 2 patch 7.39b offlane hero tier list. If you’ve read the official patch notes, you know that Clock’s new Facet, called Chainmeal, is insane. With it, he can self-cast Chainmail and consume it, allowing him to get +4 armor per Chainmail. This makes him very hard to kill in the game’s later stages.
Aside from that, Clock is as efficient as he always was. The hero is often used a position 4, but when he is in the offlane, he can also do wonders. He is strong against most melee carries, and if he catches someone out of position, Battery Assault allows him to land easy kills.
Once the laning stage is over, the hero can gank opponents around the map, initiate fights, provide vision, and so on.
Dark Seer

Despite not being an S-tier hero right now, DS is still a solid pick, so he deserves to be here. Currently, his win rate is at 52%.
Prior to the arrival of the latest big update, Dark Seer was one of the most dominating offlaners in the game. He is very hard to deal with unless there is a specific lane counter against him, such as Oracle. Nowadays, the hero is still a solid pick to have on your team, but the 7.39 and 7.39b nerfed him a bit more than we expected.
Starting with the first change, 7.39 reduced the hero’s AGI gain from 1.8 to 1.5 and increased the Normal Punch CD from 9s to 10s. Just when we thought that the nerfs were over, DS’s Ion Shell’s duration increased to 20/22/24/26s instead of 21/24/27/30s, and Wall of Replica’s Cast Range decreased from 1300 to 1000.
Conclusion
All offlaners here are excellent picks that you can definitely take advantage of. Most are easy to play and will do very well against almost anyone. Just make sure that the offlane hero works with the rest of your team because you will need to be the one who makes a difference, especially in the mid-game.
