After several days of epic matches, the DreamLeague Season 26 qualifiers are finally over. One of the largest online tournaments will take place in May, but we already know the names of almost all Dota 2 teams that will attend it. The qualifiers in all regions were brutal, so let’s go through each one to see what happened.
Contents
North America
Starting with the DreamLeague Season 26 North American qualifier, 8 teams had to go face to face for the only slot in the region. 6 out of those cames from the Open Qualifiers, but people expected Shopify Rebellion and Wildcard to be on another level and they were not disappointed.
These two North American giants ripped through their competitors and ended up meeting twice – in the Upper Bracket Final and the Qualifying Matches. As expected, SR was better and defeated Wildcard two times, which will give them their slot.
South America
Unlike NA, South America had two slots for DreamLeague Season 26. There were also 8 teams here but 4 of them were invited, whereas the rest came from the open qualifiers.
To be fair, the South American qualifiers were some of the most interesting ones to watch because everyone expected HEROIC to rip through the rest. Even though the team reached the Upper Bracket Final, it lost against Mosquito Clan in the final.
The second team that qualified for the European online tournament was Perrito Panzon. This is an intriguing squad that consists of the likes of K1, DarkMafo, MoOz, and other popular Peruvian Dota 2 players.
Western Europe
Moving to the most interesting DreamLeague Season 26 qualifier, we have Eastern Europe. Unlike the rest, this one had 3 slots, and pretty much all Dota 2 teams had equal chances of getting them. In the end, however, three teams were above the rest.
It is probably not surprising that Tundra Esports is the first big name to attend the event. The squad had to play against Team Secret and NAVI Junior and did not have any problems in either match.
The second team that we will see at the tournament a few weeks from now is Gaimin Gladiators. Quinn and co. defeated Zero Tenacity and Capy Baras and secured their slot.
Lastly, we have the Lower Bracket team that made it to DreamLeague S26, and that is AVULUS. The latter met Team Secret in the LB final and defeated the legendary WEU squad.
Eastern Europe
Surprisingly, the Eastern European DreamLeague Season 26 qualifiers only offered this region one slot. As expected, the competition here was fierce because there were 4 invited teams, all of which had equal chances of winning.
After many epic matches, Aurora Gaming became the team that secured the only slot from the region. Despite losing the UB Final against Natus Vincere, the squad bounced back and got a clean victory in the Qualifying Match.
It is really sad that we won’t see Na’Vi in action because the team has a really good roster right now, especially after Yuragi and Ari became a part of it a few days ago.
MESWA
Unsurprisingly, the newest Dota 2 region also had only one slot for DreamLeague Season 26. We only saw 3 directly invited teams here, so the other 5 got here following the Open Qualifiers.
As expected, Virtus.Pro and Nigma Galaxy were the two MESWA powerhouses that were on another level and had to decide which of them would take the only slot. The two teams met twice, and Nigma won both clashes. Although the UB Final was close, Nigma had no problems in the Qualifying Match and got a clear 3-0 victory.
Southeast Asia
Moving to Southeast Asia, the region had 5 pre-invited teams and 2 slots for DreamLeague Season 26. Although there were several interesting names here, in the end, it was all about the battle between Talon Esports and BOOM Esports.
People expected Talon Esports to be the first to secure a slot for the event from the Upper Bracket, but this was not the case. Surprisingly, the SEA Dota 2 powerhouse lost the clash against Team Essence and had to survive in the Lower Bracket. Fortunately, Mikoto and the rest eventually made it out and secured the victory.
The second team from the region will attend this tournament, BOOM Esports. Unlike Talon, BOOM had no issues and secured 3 quick victories in the Upper Bracket.
Sadly, Team MongolZ lost both the Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket finals and failed to secure a slot for DreamLeague Season 24’s next stage.
Where is China?
Aside from all of the teams mentioned so far, we will also have one Chinese representative for DreamLeague Season 26. However, we won’t find out the name of the region’s team until May 3.
The reason why there were no qualifiers in China now is because of the ACL x ESL Challenger China. This is a tournament series that will serve as a qualifier for the Asian Champions League 2025 and DreamLeauge Season 26. Held between May 1 and 3, the ACL x ESL Challenger China has a $100,000 prize pool and 8 teams, so we can’t wait to see the results.
