Once the underdog, today. Eastern Europe is one of the best Dota 2 regions in the world. Although there is a substantial difference between the top teams and the rest here, EEU is one of the favorites for The International 2025. There is much to discuss here, so let’s learn more about it.

Eastern Europe and The International – History
Eastern Europe is an interesting region when it comes to The International. Some may not know, but this is the region that lifted the first-ever Aegis in 2011, when Natus Vincere defeated EHOME.
Following the initial success, EEU was unable to repeat the results in the next couple of years. Teams like Virtus.Pro were among the best in the world, but when it comes to TI, it struggled.
The squad had to wait until 2021, when Team Spirit lifted the Aegis. After defeating PSG.LGD, Spirit won the biggest-ever prize pool in Esports—$40M.
Just two years later, Team Spirit proved once again that they are among the best in the world and won TI yet again. This time, the squad defeated Gaimin Gladiators.
Eastern European Teams at The International 2025
Eastern Europe will have a total of 4 representatives. 3 of them received a direct invitation, whereas the rest took part in the qualifiers:
- PARIVISION
- BetBoom Team
- Team Spirit
- Aurora Gaming
Even though EEU has one less team than Western Europe, it is safe to say that all 4 have real chances of winning the tournament.
Starting with PARIVISION, this has been the most dominant Dota 2 team in 2025. The squad won many tournaments and had consistent results all year. The 3rd place at the Esports World Cup 2025 proves that the team has solid chances of winning.
Up next, we have Team Spirit, the big favorite to win this event. After securing two TIs under its belt, Spirit is looking to cement its name in history as the first and only organization with three TI victories. It won’t be easy, but it definitely has what it takes.
BetBoom Team is another name that we expect to see a lot of. It’s definitely not the big favorite, but the team has everything it needs to secure a top-four finish. 2025 has been pretty good for the team because it won the FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 and PGL Wallachia Season 5.
Lastly, we have Aurora Gaming. This is definitely the underdog in Eastern Europe, but it has what’s needed to be among the best.
In terms of the qualifiers, Aurora won an epic battle against many big teams. The squad battled against L1GA, Cyber Goose, Natus Vincere, and many other top squads.
The International 2025 Predictions for Eastern Europe
At the time of writing, Team Spirit, PARIVISION, and BetBoom Team are among the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Each one has real chances of lifting the aegis, so we expect to have 1 team among the best 3.
Many assume that the WEU might be in a better position than the EEU, but this is not the case. We at Blix.gg strongly believe the EEU is on the same level as the WEU, so it will be very intriguing to see the final results.
Closing Thoughts
Eastern Europe’s presence at TI 2025 stands as a testament to resilience for Dora 2. Despite the challenges, teams from this region continue to showcase mental fortitude when playing under pressure. Each of the big names has proven it can bring down the big teams from other parts of the world.
No one can deny that EEU teams are on another level, and they have real chances of winning. Sure, WEU won last year’s The International, but we expect to see something different this year.
