The Group Stage at the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2025 is over, so it’s time to take a look at the results. As expected, each group offered us many top-tier series that were amazing to watch. Some performed a bit better than we expected, so let’s analyse everything that happened at the Esports World Cup 2025 so far and see what’s next.
Group A
Following the end of all matches in Group A, we have the following placements from 1 to 4:
- Team Spirit
- Natus Vincere
- Xtreme Gaming
- Talon Esports
As expected, Team Spirit was above the rest and ended the group with 2 wins and 1 draw. Na’Vi came second with 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 draw, and XG and Talon both ended with 2 draws and 1 loss.
Following the end of all games, TS will advance to Phase 3, whereas Na’Vi goes to Round 2 of Phase 2. As for the remaining two teams, they will go to Round 1 of Phase 2.
Group B
Moving to Group B, the results here were slightly more surprising than we expected. Here’s the final standing from 1 to 4:
- BetBoom Team
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Team Falcons
- Execration
BetBoom Team continued its dominance after the impressive results at the PGL Wallachia Season 5. After all games, BB finished first with 2 wins and 1 draw, followed by Gaimin Gladiators with 1 win and 2 draws.
Team Falcons definitely surprised us because we expected it to perform better. Sadly, it only got 2 draws and 1 loss. Lastly, we have Execration, the team that ended last in Group B with 1 draw and 2 losses.
Group C
Group C was a bloodbath and the only group, alongside Group D, where we saw a tiebreaker. Following all games, the results look as follows:
- Aurora Gaming
- Tundra Esports
- Team Yandex
- Virtus.Pro
Aurora Gaming and Tundra Esports are the two Dota 2 teams that will finish first and second. Interestingly, the two had to play in a tiebreaker to determine which team would finish first. Following an epic 3-game series, Aurora won.
To be fair, we expected a lot more from Virtus.Pro. The CIS team recently changed its roster and looked good on paper, but it seems like it has a lot to improve on. VP ended last in Group C and did not win a single map.
As for Team Yandex, they performed as expected. The squad ended the group with 1 victory and 2 losses, securing the third place.
Group D
Lastly, we have Group D, which has the following final standings:
- Team Liquid
- PARIVISION
- HEROIC
- Shopify Rebellion
To be honest, we are not surprised that Team Liquid finished first in Group D. The squad had no problems against SR and PARIVISION, and it secured a draw against HEROIC.
Speaking of PARIVISION, one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world has finished 2nd. The team had to play in a tiebreaker against HEROIC, which ended in favor of the EEU powerhouse.
Shopify Rebellion’s results were also not surprising. The team was definitely the underdog in Group D, so it ended up with just 1 draw and 2 losses.
Elimination Phase
Now that the Group Stage is over, the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2025 will move on with the Elimination Phase. We expect to see tons of amazing matches, so definitely follow us for more information.
In terms of the upcoming clashes, here’s what we will see:
- Xtreme Gaming vs Execration
- Team Yandex vs Shopify Rebellion
- HEROIC vs Talon Esports
- Team Falcons vs Virtus.Pro
As you can see, we have tons of amazing series ahead of us. HEROIC vs Talon seems to be the most interesting one, but we believe that all of them will be worth watching, so don’t miss them.
