Four Dota 2 Heroes to avoid during Patch 7.33d

Here are the Dota 2 heroes we expect to underperform in 7.33d, so you can avoid them.

The most recent Dota 2 patch, 7.33d, brought the much-needed balance changes to the current meta. We’ve already seen its effect on it, and if you take a look at our patch 7.33d overview, you’ll see some heroes are slightly different from before.

Normally, people only focus on the best heroes in the given patch and pick them because it’s what will help them reach the rank they want. However, this article will be slightly different; at BLIX.GG, we wanted to try to show you some of the Dota 2 heroes you should avoid in 7.33d. The patch has been out for a few days now, so we have enough data to analyze the worst picks in the game. Although some players can make them work, these heroes aren’t worth the risk.

Doom

Surprisingly, the first name on the list is one of the options that dominated the PUB and Pro Dota 2 scene for some time. Doom is a hero well known for his dominance at all stages of the game and his ability to eliminate one hero from the fight. However, the most recent nerfs have had a terrible effect on him, which is why he has an abysmal win rate of 41%.

Unsurprisingly, some people might be shocked by these results Doom was among the most successful offlaners/supports in the previous patch. Sadly, the changes following 7.33d have made him one of the worst heroes:

• Doom’s base armor is down by 1
• Devour now provides less bonus gold than before
• Scorched Earth gives less bonus movement speed
• The hero’s level 15 talent provides less bonus MS to Scorched Earth

It’s safe to say Doom is in a really bad spot right now, which is why we think he’s definitely one of the Dota 2 heroes to avoid in 7.33d. We don’t expect to see any changes to him soon, at least until the end of The Bali Major 2023.

Nature’s Prophet

The second-worst hero that you can get right now, according to the statistics, is Nature’s Prophet. Furion was also affected by the changes in 7.33d, but unlike Doom, the hero received three buffs. Many people expected those things to put him back in the meta and make him one of the go-to options. However, it had the opposite effect because here we are a few days after the new patch, and he’s one of the Dota 2 heroes to avoid in 7.33d.

The changes to Nature Prophet in the current patch include the following:

• The hero’s range is 620 instead of 600
• Nature’s Call now costs 120 mana instead of 150, and the ability has less cooldown on levels 2,3 and 4.
• Curse of Oldgrowth now deals 20 damage per tree.

Despite these changes, Nature’s Prophet’s 42.86% win rate just isn’t enough to recommend him. With that said, this is one of the cores that we expect to get better as time goes on because savvy PUB and Pro Dota 2 players will eventually find a way to make the most of him.

Batrider

The next of the heroes to avoid in 7.33d is a one who hasn’t been a part of the meta in some time now, Batrider. To be fair, there were a few instances in 7.33c where some of the professional Dota 2 teams tried using him. However, Batrider wasn’t powerful enough to prove himself in the meta, so people naturally started focusing on other picks.

The bad news for Batrider is that 7.33d didn’t change things in a positive way. On the contrary, Batrider is among the worst heroes in the game right now, with around a 43% win rate. His inconsistency, mixed with low damage output and high skill cap, means that most players prefer using other options. 

In terms of the Batrider changes following 7.33d, the hero has the following:

• Sticky Napalm’s damage per stack is now 16 instead of 20 on level 4.
• Flamebreak slows down the enemy’s movement speed by 25 only on level 4

These changes severely impact Batrider’s early-game capabilities, decreasing his effectiveness for both chasing his opponents and harassing them. Needless to say, this is fatal for the hero because the early game is one of the things that makes Batrider so dangerous.

Tiny

One of the Dota 2 heroes that we didn’t expect on this list is Tiny. Although he hasn’t been the most dominant hero in PUB games, Tiny is one of the evergreen options for the professional Dota 2 scene. His ability to adapt and fit into multiple roles makes him one of the most popular picks in the game.

The bad news for Tiny is that he’s among the Dota 2 heroes to avoid in 7.33d, especially if you want to play PUB games. Judging by his stats after a couple of days, we can see his win rate is around 44.50% — one of the worst in the game. 

To be honest, we didn’t expect to see the hero on this list because 7.33d buffed his Avalanche, reducing the ability’s cooldown on levels 1, 2, and 3. Sadly, it seems like this change is not enough to see Tiny back in the meta, and we’ll have to wait for the subsequent update.

It will be interesting to see if Tiny will get the chance to shine in the pro scene at The Bali Major 2023. So far, the hero only appeared in 7 matches during DreamLeague Season 20, winning 4 of them, which isn’t that bad. Nevertheless, he’s definitely not as good as he was a couple of months ago.
