HEROIC, the South American powerhouse, won another major Dota 2 tournament. The team was above the rest at the FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 and defeated MOUZ in the Grand Final.
HEROIC Winning FISSURE Universe: Episode 7
It is safe to say that Dota 2 experts did not see this one coming. Everyone expected Aurora Gaming and Team Liquid to be the favorites and the teams that would win this tournament. However, it was HEROIC, one of the directly-invited squads that lifted the trophy and their run was impressive.
Since HEROIC was among the directly-invited teams, it got the chance to play in the Quarterfinals, where it met the 1W team. Unsurprisingly, the South American team had no issues and advanced to the Semifinals, where they played against Aurora. This was one of those matches where everything was possible but Aurora proved to be the better of the two.
The Upper Bracket final was probably the most anticipated clash of the event because it put together Team Liquid and HEROIC. Liquid recently made some roster changes, so this was the first big event for the new roster and the team failed to snatch the event. Despite winning the first game, HEROIC bounced back in the series and reached the Grand Final.
Speaking of the final, HEROIC met MOUZ, another team that has a brand new roster. MOUZ got here after an impressive run in the Lower Bracket and even won the first match in the Final. Sadly, this was all they could do because HEROIC looked unstoppable. The South Americans really wanted this victory and eventually got it after three consecutive wins.
