FISSURE Universe: Episode 6 is going to the last Dota 2 tournament before The International 2025. We still have time left until the event begins, but teams are already fighting in the qualifiers. Sadly, we won’t see OG in the competition because the squad was unable to defeat the game.
OG Won’t Attend FISSURE Universe: Episode 6
It’s no secret that OG has struggled a lot in the last couple of years. The squad was unable to bounce back after the big roster changes, and it failed to qualify for most big events. Unfortunately, it was also eliminated from FISSURE Universe: Episode 6.
OG was in a group with several other teams, and we expect it to have a good chance of qualifying. However, now that the quals are over, the team finished with 1 draw and 3 losses, resulting in last place.
OG’s Downfall
Once the best Dota 2 team in the world, OG is just not on the level most fans are used to seeing it. The back-to-back TI champion continues unsuccessful runs that started around 3 years ago.
The team started the 2024/25 season with a very promising roster that included a mixture of European, Southeast Asian, and South American players. The lineup looked good on paper, but it failed to achieve anything. As a result, the roster simply began to dissolve because players wanted to.
Once that happened, OG decided to experiment with players from various teams and backgrounds. This led to the return of Johan “n0tail” Sundestein, OG’s legendary captain and the mastermind behind the team’s success at The International. His presence definitely raised the expectations, but even he wasn’t enough to lift the team from the ashes.
OG was unable to qualify for FISSURE Univere: Episode 5 and missed out on a slot for The International 2025. Although it received a direct invitation for the PGL Wallachia Season 5, the squad was unable to live up to the expectations and ended.
What’s Next for the Club?
Even though no one knows what’s next for OG in terms of roster changes, we know that the team has an upcoming game at the CCT Season 3 Series 3. OG got an invitation to the tournament and will play in the Upper Bracket quarterfinals against the TEAM NEXT LEVEL. Aside from OG, this event also has the likes of MOUZ and AVULUS, so we can expect some interesting matches.
