Why OG Decided to Disband Its Dota 2 Roster
It seems like OG still can’t escape the hole it’s been in for a few years. Despite announcing a new roster this season, the team had a disastrous start to the 2025/2026 Dota 2 competitive season. The team failed to qualify for all significant events just a month after it announced its new roster.
What Happens to OG’s Former Players
According to the organization, the team made the decision to part ways with its current roster. If you check OG’s official statement, you will see that the organization said this isn’t the end of the road, meaning the squad will have a new roster soon.
The organization’s decision means that Indji “Shad” Lub, Igor “Stojkov” Stojkob, Mihalio “MikSa” Jovanovic and Tamir “daze” Tokpanov no longer have a team. Although the team took part in favor qualifiers, it failed to advance in all of them.
What’s Next for OG’s Dota 2 Team
No one knows what OG’s new roster is going to be like, but we expect to see some big names. The organization has been trying to find the winning formula using new players for a while now, but it does not seem to be working. It will be interesting to see who will join, so make sure to follow us for more details.
If we check OG’s games, we will see that the team has played with the likes of Kidarno, Stormstormer, and Lelis. The post-TI 2025 roster changes are (kind of) over, so there are not that many free names left, but we are confident that OG will surprise us.
Despite failing to qualify for some of the big events, there are plenty of other Dota 2 competitions left. We hope that OG will be able to bounce back and live up to people’s expectations.
