PGL Wallachia Season 3 – League Information
This will be the third tournament of the series organized by PGL and will take place in Bucharest, Romania. People who have access to PGL Wallachia Season 3 tickets can go to the PGL Studio located in Romania’s capital and watch some of the best Dota 2 teams in real time.
The PGL Wallachia Season 3 will be held between March 8 and 16, and there will be 16 teams in total. Unlike some of the other tournaments, however, the squads here will not be separated into two different groups. Instead, all of them will be in one place (more about it in a bit).
Format & Prize Pool
PGL Wallachia Season 3 will consist of the following two parts:
- Group Stage
- Playoffs
The Group Stage will include all 16 teams in one Swiss-system bracket, where they will have to play in a Bo3 format. Once the games are over, the top 8 teams will advance to the next stage of the tournament, whereas the remaining 8 teams will be eliminated.
After the Group Stage is over, Dota 2 fans will have access to the Playoffs, which will be a double-elimination bracket. Although we expected to see something different here, the tournament’s organizers decided to keep things simple. Therefore, we will have the standard Upper and Lower brackets with Bo3 matches and a Bo5 Grand Final.
Besides the fact that this will be the first big Dota 2 tournament on the new meta, PGL Wallachia Season 3 will also be special because of its prize pool. Like the event’s last version, this one will feature a massive $1,000,000 reward.

Favorites
We can see that PGL Wallachia Season 3 will include all of the top-tier Dota 2 teams right now. A lot of you might be interested in learning our predictions, so here are some of the Dota 2 teams you need to keep a close eye on.
Tundra Esports
If there is one Dota 2 team that has been above the rest recently, it is Tundra Esports. After the interesting roster change where the WEU club added bzm and dyrachyo, Tundra Esports became one of the best in the world. The team won FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1, followed by BLAST Slam II, and is doing an excellent job at DreamLeague Season 25.
Even though this will be the first big Dota 2 tournament played on Patch 7.38, Tundra already has some experience in it at DreamLeague Season 25. This puts the team in an excellent position to win another big competition.
Team Spirit
No one can deny that Team Spirit is one of those Dota 2 teams that is always going to be one of the favorites in every event. Despite the fact that the squad recently parted ways with Mira, it continues to be one of the big favorites in all events, including this one.
A quick look at Team Spirit’s most recent performance will reveal that the club’s results are relatively stable. Sure, Spirit hasn’t been able to win a big competition yet, but it did well at DreamLeague Season 25 and S24. Speaking of winning something, Spirit’s last big victory was at PGL Wallachia Season 1, which was in May 2024.
Team Falcons
The fact that Team Falcons will participate in a given tournament automatically makes them one of the favorites. Many may disagree, but the team from the Middle East has the results to back it up. It’s safe to say that TF has been one of the most dominating Dota 2 teams in the game’s history.
Although DreamLeague Season 25 was not the club’s most successful event, Team Falcons did really well before that. In fact, the squad won DreamLeague Season 24, as well as BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. As for the PGL Wallachia series, Falcons finished second at PGL Wallachia Season 2.
There’s no arguing that the biggest challenge ahead of TF will be the new meta. Considering the team’s experience, however, we do not expect to see any problems.
Teams to be Aware of
A potential PGL Wallachia Season 3 favorite we want ot discuss is team HEROIC. The big reason why we’ve decided to include the South American powerhouse here is its success at PGL Wallachia Season 2. The club won the tournament after defeating Team Falcons in the finals.
The same applies to Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators. Like HEROIC, neither of them has performed that well recently, but they are famous for their explosivity, so you can always expect them to shine.
