Teams & Favorites
PGL Wallachia Season 5 will feature 16 of the best Dota 2 teams. Even though the event is not associated with the upcoming Esports World Cup and The International, it will bring together many of the best in Dota 2. Currently, the list consists of the following:
- BetBoom Team
- Xtreme Gaming
- Virtus.Pro
- Aurora Gaming
- MOUZ
- AVULUS
- HEROIC
- Team Liquid
- OG
- Team Spirit
- Nigma Galaxy
- Tundra Esports
- Wildcard
- NAVI
- Gaimin Gladiators
- All Gamers Global
We can see a lot of the big names in Dota 2, as well as several underdogs. Even though all teams have a chance to win the competition, some are in a much better position to do it, so let’s go over each one and see what we can expect.
Team Liquid
In 2025, Team Liquid cemented its role as one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Regardless of the event it participates in, Liquid is always one of the favorites, so we expect the team to do well at PGL Wallachia Season 5.
If we take a look at the PGL Wallachia Season 4, we can see that Liquid won the event. The team successfully defeated all of its big rivals, including PARIVISION, and lifted the trophy. This happened around 2 months ago, so it’s safe to say that Liquid is in an excellent position to do the same.
Tundra Esports
After Tundra decided to take a break from the last big Dota 2 event, the squad is back in action. If we check the results from PGL Wallachia Season 4, we can see that Tundra achieved good results. Despite losing against Liquid in the UB Quarterfinals, the team bounced back and reached the LB final, where it lost against Liquid again.
Overall, Tundra has been one of the most stable Dota 2 teams in Western Europe and definitely has what it takes to win the competition. Keep in mind that PARVISION, the world’s best Dota 2 team right now, won’t attend the event. This gives Tundra even better chances at succeeding.
All Gamers Global
Even though most people don’t believe that a Chinese team can win a top-tier Dota 2 tournament right now, we don’t agree. All Gamers Global is an intriguing team from the Far East that consists of some of the best players in China and Malaysia. This will be the team’s first big challenge after its creation in May 2025, so we at Blix expect them to achieve good results.
BetBoom Team
The last PGL Wallachia Season 5 favorite that fans will keep a close eye on is BetBoom Team. The Eastern European powerhouses recently finished 2nd at DreamLeague Season 26, so there is no arguing they are among the best in the world. Before that, BetBoom won the FISSURE Universe Episode 4 and BLAST Slam I.
Honorable Mentions
Alongside some of the potential favorites, PGL Wallachia Season 5 has several other teams that can perform well. Team Spirit is definitely one of the names to keep an eye on because they can explode at any time. The same is true for Aurora Gaming because the squad consists of some of the best CIS Dota 2 players.
Closing Thoughts
PGL Wallachia Season 5 will be one of the last big Dota 2 tournaments before the most important events of the year. It will be a fun event that’s definitely worth watching, so make sure to follow the matches. As always, live coverage will be in English, Russian and Chinese.
