The post TI14 roster shuffle continues to surprise us and the most recent news is from Team Liquid. After their questionable performance at The International 2025, the team decided to bench Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek. Just two hours after the announcement, the player said he will be joining AVULUS for the upcoming Season
Team Liquid Benched SaberLighT-
To be fair, most of us expected to see changes in Team Liquid’s camp because the squad did not live up to the expectations at TI14. Even though Liquid had a solid season, the team made a lot of mistakes and was eliminated early on.
Just a few weeks after TI 2025 came to an end, Liquid announced that the team will be benching SaberLighT-. Liquid said that the player “has shown tremendous growth, dedication, and positivity” and that it will continue to support him as he looks toward new opportunities.
Speaking of opportunities, we did not have to wait long to see him back in action because he announced he’ll join AVULUS.
SabeRLighT- joins AVULUS
AVULUS could not achieve any impressive results in 2025, even though the organization had a pretty good roster, at least on paper. It seems like the people behind everything decided it is time for a change, which is why they released everyone from the roster aside from Aliaksei “Smiling Knight” Svirydau. Currently, the new AVULUS Dota 2 roster looks like this:
- Aliaksei “Smiling Knight” Svirydau
- Artem “lorenof” Melnyk
- Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek
- Marcel “Ekki” Hołowienko
- JANTER
Lorenof became popular after playing for around 6 months with Viruts.Pro. Before that, he was a part of several other EEU teams, such as Chimera Esports, Aurora Gaming and others.
Ekki is another interesting name that we’ll see in action. After playing for Team Secret for two months, the player was actually a part of AVULUS For more than 6 months before leaving for MOUZ. Sadly, things did not work out for the player there, so he decided to come back to his former squad.
We know little about JANTER because he is a new name in the professional Dota 2 scene. Only time will tell if he is on the same level as his team members.
Overall, AVULUS definitely has an interesting team, so we can’t wait to see them in action. This will happen soon because the team will play in the upcoming DreamLeague Season 27 and BLAST Slam IV.
