We are over a week in 2026 and Dota 2 fans worldwide are slowly preparing for the first big tournament of the year. We already shared our Dota 2 2026 expectations, so now it is time to focus on the different Dota 2 tournaments we will see this year. We already have the schedule for the first half of the year, so let’s dive in.
Contents
BLAST Slam VI
BLAST Slam VI will be the first Tier 1 tournament of 2026 and it will take place between February 3-15. We will see 12 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool, so expect more information about it when the tournament approaches.
DreamLeague Season 28
Just a day after BLAST Slam VI comes to an end, European Dota 2 fans have access to the first DreamLeague of the year. DreamLeague Season 28 will take place between February 16 and March 1, and it will also feature a $1,000,000 prize pool. Over the years, DL has established itself as the leading online tournament, so we expect to see a lot of epic games.
PGL Wallachia Season 7
Bucharest has become a hotspot for Dota 2 fans, so it’s no surprise we’ll see PGL Wallachia Season 7. The competition will be between March 5 – 15 and will also include a $1,000,000 reward. We will see 16 of the best Dota 2 teams in play and will include the best in the world.
ESL One Birmingham 2026
A week after the epic event in Bucharest, the world’s leading Dota 2 teams will head to the UK for ESL One Birmingham 2026. This will be another $1M tournament that will include 16 teams. Taking place between March 22-29, the Dota 2 fans from around the world will see their favorite players on the big stage.
PGL Wallachia Season 8
PGL continues with its dominance within the Dota 2 community with another epic event – PGL Wallachia Season 8. This is the second-last PGL tournament (that we are currently aware of) and it will also have 16 teams playing for $1M. Unless PGL decides to change something drastically, we will see the same number of teams.
DreamLeague Season 29
Speaking of popular Dota 2 tournaments in 2026, we’ll also see DreamLeague Season 29, another $1M tournament. It will also be an online competition that will bring together 16 teams. You can watch this tournament between May 13-24
BLAST Slam VII
The second BLAST tournament of the year will be held between May 26 and June 7, and it will also come with a $1M reward. Like the previous one, it will include 12 teams and we expect to see all the “usual suspects”.
The International 2026
August 13-23 is when we will see the most important Dota 2 tournament of 2026 – The International 2026. We do not know much about the tournament yet, other than the fact that it will be in Shanghai, China. As always, we at Blix will provide you with all of the information you need to know.
PGL Wallachia Season 9
Unless PGL changes its mind, PGL Wallachia Season 9 will be the last Dota 2 tournament in 2026 from this organizer. We will see 16 teams in total playing in Bucharest between September 17-27.
BLAST Slam VIII

The third BLAST Slam tournament of the year will have a $1M reward, and it will also include 12 Dota 2 teams. Unless the dates change, we should see it between September 29 and October 11, 2026.
BLAST Slam IX
The last Dota 2 tournament that we are currently aware of (there will definitely be more) is BLAST Slam IX. This will be the last BLAST Dota 2 competition of the year and it will also include 12 teams and a $1M prize pool.
Conclusion
As you can see, there will be plenty of Dota 2 tournaments for us to watch, so we can’t wait to see each one. Make sure to follow us regularly if you want to learn more about it.
