Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen is one of the most recognizable names in Dota 2. The two-time TI champion took seven months off from Dota 2, but at Blix.gg, we are happy to announce that he is back! Here’s everything you need to know.
Topson is Back
The reason why Topson had to take some time off Dota 2 was to focus on his military service. There were rumours about it that his wife eventually confirmed. Needless to say, this is why he has not posted anything since January 7.
After being inactive for more than 7 months, Topson came back with a bang. He decided to “revive” his timeline by posting a video of him back at his desk. With that said, we had to wait until the late hours of July 21 for the official announcement that he is back in the game and will livestream for his fans.
That said, we do not know if Topson will decide to return to competitive Dota 2 yet. In case you don’t remember, Tundra Esports announced his retirement from professional play in September of 2024, and he hasn’t made any statements since then. With that said, fans believe that we may see him in action sooner than we think.
Considering that The International is approaching and the Esports World Cup 2025 ended just a few days ago, we will probably have to wait until we learn something about Topson’s professional career. There will definitely be many roster changes once TI is over, and we expect Topson to find a new home in the professional Dota 2 scene.
We will make sure to inform you as soon as there’s something new around one of Dota 2’s best players. In the meantime, don’t forget to follow our site for the latest news.
