Just like that, Day 1 of the Road to The International 2025 came to an end. We saw 16 epic series between some of the best teams in the world, so it’s time for a quick recap. Let’s take a good look at everything that happened.

Team Falcons Started TI 2025 With two key Victories

Team Falcons was one of the hidden favorites for The International 2025, but after what they’ve shown in Day 1, the team seems to be in a good position.

Falcons started the day with a victory against Team Nemesis. To be fair, we expected an easier match for the MENA powerhouse, but their SEA opponents snatched the second map. This allowed us to watch game 3, which was over 70 minutes long and ended in favor of Falcons.

Moving on to the second series of the day, Team Falcons met Tundra Esports in one of the most anticipated matches. Most people expected Tundra to win the match, but Falcons proved they have more experience at The International. Despite losing game 2, Falcons won the first and third maps, resulting in a second victory for the day.

While it’s true that Xtreme Gaming has some of the best players in China, it was not among the favorites at TI 2024. However, it seems like we might have been wrong because XG started the tournament with 2 impressive victories.

Wang “Ame” Chunyu and his teammates started with a somewhat lucky victory against Aurora Gaming. This was one of those matches where Aurora had the lead in both games but failed to capitalize on it and lost.

Following his victory, Xtreme Gaming did the impossible and defeated TI 2025 favorites Team Spirit. No one expected this to happen, but Ame and co. proved that they are extremely motivated and will try to achieve their best results yet.

After losing game 1, Spirit bounced back in the second map and equalised the match, which pushed the series into Game 3. Despite the somewhat good start, Spirit was unable to take advantage of it and let XG’s Anti-Mage come online. As expected, the hero gave the EEU powerhouse no chances and carried his team to victory.

    Other Important Results

Alongside these two teams’ success, we saw a few other interesting games. Team Liquid defeated BOOM Esports but made a mistake against Team Tidebound. Speaking of the latter, the Chinese also defeated NAVI, putting them in a comfortable position.

PARIVISION also lived up to the expectations after securing two wins against HEROIC and Nigma Galaxy. We can’t wait to see what’s next at The International 2025, so make sure to follow us for more details.
