The Korean esports organization DWG KIA (also known as DAMWON Gaming KIA) has changed its name again. Now, the organization is called Dplus KIA.
Rebranding is dedicated to the upcoming League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) season. In memory of past successes, the organization retained the letter “D” in its name.
“Dplus KIA is one of the most successful teams in the history of League of Legends and it’s time for our brand to take its rightful place amongst the most popular organizations in the world. We’re excited to create a new chapter in this organization’s storied history with this phenomenal team and the bold projects we have in store for this year that will bring a new wave of fans to the Dplus KIA family,” said Joon young Lee, Vice Chairman/COO of Dplus KIA.
Dplus KIA is one of the strongest South Korean esports organizations. Dplus KIA teams compete in League of Legends, VALORANT and Rainbox Six Siege. The LoL squad of the organization is a three-time LCK champion and also won the 2020 World Championship. At the Worlds 2022, they ranked 5th-8th.
