Lil Gator Game
Game Trailer
- Release Date: December 14, 2022
- Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
- Developer: MegaWobble
- Score by Metacritic: 84
Fun is the whole spirit of the Lil Gator game and how it constantly makes you feel, unlike any other game. In the game, you play as a little alligator trying to get his big sister involved in a fantasy game they invented years ago.
To do this, Lil Gator must befriend everyone on the island by doing “quests” for them to get them involved in the game until their sister can refuse to join one last time.
Its simplistic and fluid design and environments and charming cast of characters make for a delightful journey.

Venba
Game Trailer
- Release Date: July 31, 2023
- Platform(s): Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
- Developer: Visai Games
- Score by Metacritic: 79
Venba is a short but fascinating interactive story about people trying to preserve a piece of their culture for future generations. There are no “agendas” or moralizing, and the story is not tragic – no one pities anyone.
Instead, the authors took Indian cuisine as a basis and, through it, told us how important it is to remember your roots and how foolish it is to be ashamed of them.
In each chapter, we have to cook—at the beginning of the game, Venba cooks her husband breakfast, then shows her son the delights of national cooking, and so on. Cooking is designed as a mini-game where we open Venba’s mother’s old cookbook and follow the recipe. The feeling of touching the intimate and the awe it induces are unavoidable.
Tchia
Game Trailer
- Release Date: March 21, 2023
- Platform(s): Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
- Developer: Awaceb
- Score by Metacritic: 77
The beginning of the game is one of its strangest episodes, which can easily scare away users. The project resembles a musical with mini-games in the spirit of the children’s version of Guitar Hero, where you press the buttons in time. But don’t be in a hurry to delete the game.
Once you get to the island and start exploring, Tchia transforms. Whether you want to relax by the campfire playing the ukulele or destroy enemy camps with your magical abilities, Tchia has a lot packed into it. But most importantly, the terrain’s beauty to enjoy simply.
Roots of Pacha
Game Trailer
- Release Date: April 25, 2023
- Platform(s): Linux, macOS, Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
- Developer: Soda Den
- Score by Metacritic: 82
In the game, you can fish, farm, tame wild animals, explore caves, and even build romantic relationships. In general, you can do everything that has a calming effect.
The game itself is very enjoyable and atmospheric. You’ll love plunging into the stone age. Trying to figure out what you need to do to make your tribe figure out how to optimize the way of fishing, taming animals, and getting some resources from them is interesting.
A Little to the Left
Game Trailer
- Release Date: November 8, 2022
- Platform(s): macOS, Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android
- Developer: Max Inferno
- Score by Metacritic: 75
In front of us is a heartwarming casual puzzle game about organizing objects. There is no plot here, except that from time to time, the cat will interfere with us, and we will need to clean up after him or tap him lightly on the paw. You just put different trinkets in places by solving puzzles, which works therapeutically.
The game’s relaxing effect is also tied to the music and visual style. Graphically, everything looks like it was drawn with pastel crayons. The soundtrack is pleasant, if not lulling.

Moonstone Island
Game Trailer
- Release Date: June 19, 2024
- Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
- Developer: Studio Supersoft
- Score by Metacritic: 80
Imagine a world where floating islands are filled with magic and discoveries are made daily. That’s exactly the world we meet in Moonstone Island, a game that masterfully blends elements of farming, building, and spirit collecting into an exciting adventure.
Armed with simple tools, alchemical recipes, and the ability to tame nature spirits, you embark on a new life. Can you build a house and prove yourself as a true alchemist in a land strangled by dark forces?
Ooblets
Game Trailer
- Release Date: September 1, 2020
- Platform(s): Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One
- Developer: Glumberland
- Score by Metacritic: 74
It’s a very positive, cozy, and enjoyable game that you’re constantly drawn back to for the excellent atmosphere and the gameplay mechanics. The game is taken from entirely different genres but surprisingly fits together perfectly.
Ooblets combines a farming simulator and a monster-catching game like Pokemon. The game’s delightful art style, colorful characters, and unique combination of farming, creature collecting, and dance competitions create a unique and engaging experience that has been compared to favorites like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley.
Dorfromantik
Game Trailer
- Release Date: April 28, 2022
- Platform(s): Windows, Nintendo Switch
- Developer: Toukana Interactive
- Score by Metacritic: 84
Absolutely, the whole essence and gameplay of Dorfromantik lie in the step-by-step laying out of hexagonal tiles next to each other. Each of them can be a forest, a farm, a village, or just a plain. The better the next piece fits the neighboring and previous ones, the more points are awarded—the gameplay is like assembling a puzzle and the board game Carcassonne.
The game gives the feeling of a European village: beautiful streams, lush forests, small and cozy houses. If you feel like all the juices have been squeezed out and want to do something nice and serene, this is it. This is what has been missing for peace of mind—Dorfromantik.
A Short Hike
Game Trailer
- Release Date: July 30, 2019
- Platform(s): Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
- Developer: Adam Robinson-Yu
- Score by Metacritic: 88
A Short Hike is a quiet game in which the player takes on the role of Claire, a young bird. The player explores the island, collecting items and climbing as high as possible to get the coveted phone signal.
The game is deliberately short, as hinted by its name. At the same time, it has quite a lot of different mechanics. A Short Hike radiates a cozy atmosphere through its color scheme and artistic style, which literally envelops you with warmth and calmness.
Cozy Grove
Game Trailer
- Release Date: March 19, 2021
- Platform(s): iOS, macOS, tvOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One
- Developer: Spry Fox
- Score by Metacritic: 71
Cozy Grove is a very casual, cozy simulation game with elements of food gathering, gardening, building, easy quests, and finding hidden items. It includes mechanics that some players may understandably hate, but if that doesn’t matter to you, you’ll find a well-made, very relaxing game here.
The main character is a ghost scout. These guys specialize in finding un-dead spirits and bringing them into harmony with nature. You must find a common language with all the spirits on the island to complete the game.
The game is also recommended on Reddit, and you can also find other cozy game tips for yourself:
Beacon Pines
Game Trailer
- Release Date: September 22, 2022
- Platform(s): Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One
- Developer: Hiding Spot Games
- Score by Metacritic: 84
The action of this unique adventure game takes place inside a book – perhaps in one of the most bizarre settings imaginable. You join Luca and his friends in it as they investigate strange events in their hometown.
You’ll develop the plot by taking Luca around town and interacting with the other residents of Beacon Pines, most of whom have been living no better than you since an event called “Foul Harvest” caused the bankruptcy of the fertilizer company that half the town worked for.
It will be a cozy game and a delightfully exciting adventure with a great story. If you want to play with friends, we have a selection of Top Crossplay Games to Enjoy with Friends Across All Platforms.
Unpacking
Game Trailer
- Release Date: November 2, 2021
- Platform(s): Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android
- Developer: Witch Beam
- Score by Metacritic: 83
Have you never been fascinated by unpacking boxes with unknown contents or long forgotten? We find it a very meditative activity. That’s what Witch Beam studio, the game developer, thought.
There are no cutscenes or anything like that in the game—just a date at the beginning of the level and a small text at the end. The whole story is conveyed through objects, and surprisingly, this idea works. The plot of the game takes place between 1997 and 2018. It will start in a child’s room and end up in a huge house.
We won’t spoil what you will feel and learn throughout the game. All you’ll have to do is unpack things and fill room after room with them. It seems we just put things in certain places, but this simplicity is addictive and soothing.
Stardew Valley
Game Trailer
- Release Date: February 26, 2016
- Platform(s): Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, iOS, Android
- Developer: ConcernedApe, Sickhead Games, The Secret Police
- Score by Metacritic: 89
Some love this game, some hate it, but to not recognize the game’s high popularity is simply reckless. The game will pull you in as a usual farmer simulator, where you need to dig beds, plant plants, and breed livestock, which you need to provide with food and affection.
But with time, you will discover that underneath the farming simulator is a really great game with an interesting story. Here, you will find romantic adventures, small-town drama, the hero himself (you), and even supernatural mysteries.
Stardew Valley will give you an incredibly satisfying routine. You will immerse yourself in your own business, which will not end. This domestic hustle and bustle envelops you with the head, and you no longer want to return to reality.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Game Trailer
- Release Date: March 20, 2020
- Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
- Developer: Nintendo EPD
- Score by Metacritic: 90
Animal Crossing is challenging to compare with other games. The Japanese Harvest Moon series inspired the creators, whose mechanics were once looked up by Stardew Valley creator Eric Baron. They added elements of The Sims, making a very special product.
It’s a life simulator with social components and a sandbox with farm elements. There are no deadlines, demands, conflicts, or disasters looming on the horizon.
You just live and enjoy life. Plant flowers, collect insects, catch fish, decorate your house, and interact with your neighbors—cute anthropomorphic animals. The time on the island is synchronized with real-time and depends on your time zone, which is quite convenient. The game becomes an island of peace and tranquility, which we all lack.
Spiritfarer
Game Trailer
- Release Date: August 18, 2020
- Platform(s): PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One
- Developer: Thunder Lotus Games
- Score by Metacritic: 84
You might not find the game’s theme of death and mortality very life-affirming and optimistic at first. While the themes are serious and heavy, Spiritfarer is a very cozy pastime.
The game begins by introducing you to Charon. The local version of him does almost the same thing as his namesake from Greek myths – he transports the souls of the dead across the river. The souls picked up on the ship must be cared for – you have to feed them in time with food they like and sometimes hug them.
There’s fishing, elements of city-building, and even side quests. There’s also some charming character storylines.
This is a story about saying goodbye to close friends. It is about the different lives these people have lived and how different their final wishes are. It is about what farewells they can give before they disappear forever.
But don’t think that Spiritfarer is all about sadness – it’s mostly a positive game with bright colors. There’s a mini-game associated with all the spirits, which is triggered when your ship hits certain areas on the map. There are no timers no season schedules either – do what you want and when you want.
This is one of the recommended games on Reddit among players:
