The primary source of inspiration for the creators of Genshin Impact is, of course, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. The distinctive features of this game are a vast open world, puzzles, and many places to explore. As in the miHoYo project, you will search for treasures, fight with various monsters, and solve riddles.

In “Zelda,” there is only one character, so collecting a squad of heroes is impossible. But gamers have a vast arsenal of tools and complex physics, which, unfortunately, is practically absent in Genshin Impact. In battle, you must consider the weather conditions, your equipment’s strength, and your opponents’ weaknesses. 

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild also has elemental effects, but they work differently. Most often, you will think about the influence of cold or fire not to create a powerful combo but in the process of survival. For example, without warm gear in the cold, Link will freeze. In Genshin, things are much more straightforward, but the parallels are apparent. 

This game’s sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, offers an even more prosperous world than its predecessor.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is a game developed by a western studio, the creators of Assassin’s Creed from Ubisoft. Styled after Ancient Greece, Immortals Fenyx Rising offers a fresh take on a familiar setting, backed by fast-paced combat and endless exploration like in Genshin Impact.

Tales of Arise is an excellent alternative to Genshin Impact if you don’t mind a more anime-style twist. It’s a story-rich Japanese RPG with a strong emphasis on story. There are live battles similar to Genshin, and while the art style is very different, it’s still great.

The game’s story is set in a world where every living thing is filled with astral energy. Some get more of it, some less, which means hello, social inequality, racial superiority, and other problems that our heroes (two of them) will have to face—and save the world simultaneously.

There is a sizeable semi-open world, divided into many regions and states, between which you can move freely through a system of transfer points. This allows you to accept, complete, and turn in many side quests.

Final Fantasy 14

If you’re drawn to Genshin Impact because of its strong story, character development, and massive open world, you can find a lot to enjoy in Final Fantasy 14.

Final Fantasy 14 is a giant game, spanning multiple expansions and offering hundreds of hours of gameplay. Much of the story is voiced, and before you know it, you’ll be fully immersed in the world of Eorzea. Combat isn’t more free-for-all than in Genshin, but it’s not turn-based either, and with nearly 20 professions, there’s a play style to suit all tastes.

Unlike Genshin Impact, FF14 is an MMORPG that allows players to interact with each other but also allows them to explore the open world a lot. However, the one thing the game has in common with Genshin is its “game-as-a-service” model, which contains gacha items that people can spend real money on if the in-game currency doesn’t cover them. 

You might also like Final Fantasy 15. The main plot of Final Fantasy 15 is full of dialogues, staged battles, and commercials, but in the sidequests, you will get to know the kingdom of Lucis and its inhabitants better. There is something similar in “Genshin”, where optional quests allow you to learn a lot of interesting information about NPCs and your team members.

Tower of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy is another MMO clone of Genshin. This time, everything takes place in a science fiction setting. You must choose a playable character—a brother or a sister. Note that there is a cool appearance editor; it will help you give your hero individuality.

But what is different here is the combat. In Tower of Fantasy, we change weapons, not heroes. From the beginning of the game, we are offered to choose a character and go to the editor, where we can choose clothes, skin color, height, face, hairstyle, and physique. Then, we will be sent to conquer the open world, divided into five game zones, which will be opened while passing the story.

Although the game has melee weapons – energy swords and staffs – the main focus is on firearms: pistols, machine guns, and other long-range cannons. You will also be able to participate in online battles in PVP arenas. You will find something to do in this game – that’s why it was included in our rating of Genshin Impact analogs.

Honkai: Star Rail

It’s a new game from the creators of Genshin Impact. Despite its striking similarities to Genshin, Honkai Star Rail will be a turn-based RPG in a space setting. 

In an interview with ONE Esports, the developers also emphasized that “Honkai Star Rail is not a direct sequel to Honkai Impact 3rd, but a new game for everyone.” You play as Trailblazer who, along with his companions, travels the galaxy on the Astral Express. While on board, you will travel from planet to planet and explore the many new worlds awaiting you.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom

With an art style based on the work of Studio Ghibli, who developed the prequel in collaboration with Level-5, Ni No Kuni II’s soft shapes, sharp lines, and bright colors give it a buoyancy and lightness that fans of Genshin Impact will appreciate.

There’s a lot to love here, especially if you’re tired of how serious and humorless (and gray) RPGs have become.

Players are free to explore the open world of Ni no Kuni 2 but will have to complete missions linearly to move the story forward. In combat, players can switch between three other characters at any time. 

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

This role-playing action game will indeed please fans of Genshin Impact – get ready to dive into a massive open-world adventure. A brutal war rages in Ayonios between two artificially created races, where any soldier does not live more than 10 years. Both sides have their advantages: one has developed mechanical technology and fights with fighting machines, while the other has been able to access magic, allowing them to create unique mobile and light weapons.

The battles are exciting and surprisingly challenging, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 feels like a direct update to its predecessor. Thankfully, each Xenoblade game has its own story, and you don’t have to play the older games to enjoy the latest title.

A lot of enemies and bosses, to which you need to find a particular approach to win, will keep you from getting bored and sometimes even make you show your wits.

The Legend of Neverland

The game is similar both visually and gameplay-wise. Connoisseurs of miHoYo’s creation will notice direct borrowings in menu design and the appearance of entire locations. Fortunately, there are some differences. Firstly, The Legend of Neverland works only on phones. Secondly, it is a multiplayer game with a strong emphasis on the online component.

Speaking of small details, the clone has, though relatively simple, customization of the main character and full-fledged interchangeable equipment. Each pair of shoes, hat, or breastplate is different and looks different in terms of the character—even the height changes depending on the height of the heels. 

The plot unfolds in the world of Cabala, where the forces of chaos have infiltrated. The player, who once lost but was awakened, must confront them with the help of fairies.

There are no character teams, but there are fairies. It works like in Genshin Impact. You need to get new companions through the local analog of prayers. Fairies actively participate in combat, increasing the character’s characteristics or attacking independently. Battles resemble Genshin only visually. Having chosen the initial class, you will pump strictly specific skills.

Wuthering Waves

The gameplay is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world after a catastrophe known as “Lament”. This catastrophe wiped out most of humanity and caused the appearance of mysterious creatures and monsters. The survivors are forced to fight for survival and rebuild civilization amidst the ruins. 

The character designs and gameplay systems resemble those found in Genshin Impact. Still, the dark and gloomy tone of Wuthering Waves starkly contrasts Genshin’s colorful and fun environment. Also, there is no fairy-tale companion that follows you everywhere.

The game’s gacha system is represented by banners known as Convenes, where you can obtain Resonators and weapons. There are three types of Convenes: beginner, event, and standard.

A mobile action game based on the most famous anime in the history of “Naruto”, reminiscent of Genshin in terms of gameplay. In this part, the developers changed the gameplay slightly and diversified it with elements such as narrative inserts, an open game world, and multiplayer mode.  

You may also be interested in the 2017 Azur Lane. The developers describe the project as a unique blend of role-playing games, two-dimensional shooters, and tactics. The story unfolds in a parallel reality to World War II when aliens invaded the Earth.
