However, the esports side of NetEase’s newest hero shooter is not stopping any time soon, as another official tournament has been announced: Marvel Rivals Invitational North America 2025, which is the second NA event since the game launched last December.

Marvel Rivals Invitational NA Participants
The 2024 Marvel Rival Invitational in North America only pitted four teams against each other: NTMR, U4RIA, NRG and Luminosity Gaming NA. That time around NTMR proved to be the best, winning every series they played with a perfect score.
However, the organizers want to up the stakes, so for the first Marvel Rivals Invitational NA in 2025, they doubled the teams that compete. NTMR return, but only in name, as their entire 2024 champion roster was signed by Sentinels, a North American organization that is best known for competing in Riot Games’ tactical FPS, VALORANT. They are joined by household names such as 100 Thieves, FlyQuest and ENVY, as well as some new kids around the block in Rad Esports and Shikigami.
The eight team of the tournament will be Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s SHROUD-X, which was created after the world’s number one FPS streamer raised over $1 million during a charity stream. The squad – just like many other Marvel Rivals teams – feature some up-and-coming ex-Overwatch players such as Armando “Doomed” Guillen Abarca, who are eager to prove themselves.
Marvel Rivals Invitational NA Format
The tournament will kick off with a Swiss Stage starting on March 14th. The pairings will be random in Round 1, but then the squads will have an opponent with an identical record to theirs in Round 2 and Round 3. After the Swiss Stage, none of the teams will be eliminated: the top four will automatically advance to the Upper Bracket, while the bottom four will have to fight their way through the Lower Bracket. All matches played will be Best of Threes.
The Knockout Stage will feature a Double Elimination bracket with Best of Three series’ in the Upper Bracket until the Finals, Best of Fives in the entirety of the Lower Bracket, and a Best of Seven superseries for the Grand Final. The teams who lose their match once they are in the Lower Bracket will be eliminated, so they have to give it their all if they were a bottom four team or they get knocked down from the Upper Bracket.
Marvel Rivals Invitational NA Prize Pool
The Prize Pool of the competition is $100,000, distributed among the teams as such:
- $40,000 for First Place,
- $20,000 for Second Place,
- $12,000 for Third Place,
- $8,000 for Fourth Place,
- $6,000 for Fifth and Sixth Place,
- $4,000 for Seventh and Eighth Place.

You can find the matches of the first 2025 North American Marvel Rivals Invitational on the official Marvel Rivals Twitch and YouTube channels. There seems to be growing buzz around Marvel Rivals esports, so you can also find some national broadcasts already, but we expect even more channels picking it up outside of the official broadcast.
