Patch Report #34.2 | 8th Anniversary World Update, Arcade Updates, and New Survivor Pass
In this patch, the developers updated Erangel in honor of the game’s eighth anniversary, launched a new test of the adjusted crosshair bias system, and improved Sanhok. Sanhok’s coverage has significantly improved, and the effect of destruction was also added to the map.
On the starting island of each map, a bot will appear. You must throw gold grenades at it to display your nickname on the shared board. Landing planes will also be decorated with festive banners, and there will also be brightly colored fireworks in the sky. The Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, and Rondo maps will receive holiday decorations.
New music by M83 will appear in the lobby. And the arcade mode will have several new features. These are:
- Three maps and updated sets of appearances in team deathmatch;
- Changed weapon modules and loot in Intense Battle Royale, as well as destruction on Sanhok;
- Increased the maximum number of players to 64 in Hot Spot Landing.
The following three maps have been added.
- Deston – Arena
- Vikendi – Train Station
- Sanhok – Camp Bravo
The UX/UI will change as well. Killfeed visibility has been improved, and a new kill icon with an overlapping X on the knockdown icon has been added:
- White X: Standard kill/death icon
- Red X: Indicates your or a teammate’s death
- Blue X: Indicates your or a teammate’s kill
An essential feature that many people have been waiting for is that the “Single Language Team” will be available in ranked mode starting with update 34.2. In Squad mode, you can select the “Single Language” setting above the game mode selection panel on the “Game – Ranked Match” tab so that players who speak the same language as the team leader will be matched with a team.
In gameplay, you should also expect several improvements. Among them, for example, are smarter bots. The complexity of battles with them will not change, but fighters under the control of AI will behave more naturally.
The store will be replenished with a new Survivor Pass, which offers rewards for completing tasks. The full list of changes can be found on the game’s website.
Aim Punch Adjustments
Previous Gunplay Labs have reduced dizziness caused by significant screen movement. Aim Punch 2 introduced a system where the aiming kick decreases with distance.
The aiming recoil of SMGs and shotguns decreases significantly with distance. At 50 meters, the aiming recoil of SMGs is comparable to ARs. SRs also have a decrease in aiming recoil as a function of distance, but they still have strong aiming recoil at mid-range.
Events
Several new in-game events were also announced in honor of the release of update number 34.2 on the game’s main servers. During these events, players can earn skins and other rewards for completing missions or logging into PUBG daily.
Mission Commando and 8th Anniversary is to enter the lobby daily and earn rewards.
Mission: 8 will consist of:
- Enter the lobby.
- Survive 88 minutes in total. Survival time includes time spent spectating your teammates.
- Parachute 8,888 m in total.
- Deal 888 total damage to enemies.
In the Lucky 8 event, you need to:
- Play Erangel 1 time.
- Play Erangel a total of 3 times.
- Play Erangel a total of 8 times.
- At the starting location, score the jackpot by hitting the Bobble Bot 8 times with Golden Grenades.
- Get your name on the starting location leaderboard by hitting the Bobble Bot with Golden Grenades on the 8th, 16th, and 24th hits. Good luck!
- Visit the 8th Anniversary Party Ferry.
- Use the Jukebox in the 8th Anniversary Party Ferry.
- Consume one piece of 8th Anniversary Birthday Cake.
Missions will begin as early as March 12, with various end times. Not all missions will be available at once. Mission: 8 will be available March 26, 02:00 – March 31, 02:00, Lucky 8! from now until April 9. Commando will run March 26, 02:00 – April 9, 02:00.
