Tactical first-person shooter Rainbow Six Siege is waiting for a significant update with the subtitle X. Ubisoft announced this during the final day of Six Invitational 2025.
According to the Rainbow Six Siege game director, Siege X will not be a new installment of the shooter but also not just another patch.
The developers are preparing a “serious evolution”,” including improvements to graphics, sound, and gameplay that will affect the game’s perception. At the same time, Ubisoft promises to keep the foundation of Six Siege, which makes the title unique.
The R6 team has been working tirelessly to bring to life the biggest transformation in the game’s history and its purpose is to reinforce Rainbow Six Siege’s position at the top of tactical first-person shooters by introducing new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel and major upgrades all around. — Ubisoft
Ubisoft unveiled a Rainbow Six Siege X teaser on stage at the event. It later appeared on the game’s social media accounts. The developers promised to reveal details during the presentation on March 13.
Year 10 of Rainbow Six Siege will also kick off soon with the launch of the first season: Operation Prep Phase. A new Operator named Rauora will join the Attackers and use her D.O.M. Launcher to deploy bulletproof panels in doorways, helping her team reshape the battlefield and dictate the flow of combat.
Rauora will be available with the Operation Prep Phase Battle Pass at the start of the season and will be unlockable two weeks later with Renown or R6 Credits.
