Windows 11 version 24H2 added new features to the Windows 11 operating system and discovered new issues. This time, the update found so many bugs in several Ubisoft games that Microsoft stopped offering Windows 11 24H2 updates for computers with certain Ubisoft games.
Microsoft representatives acknowledged the problem. The bug affected several titles, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Gamers complain of freezes at launch, loading, or during gameplay and the appearance of a black screen.
Ubisoft has released a temporary fix for Star Wars Outlaws that may help avoid the most severe issues but at the cost of reduced performance and loss of frames per second (FPS). If the game crashes, Microsoft recommends terminating the gameplay via Task Manager.
The best solution remains to revert to the previous system version (23H2), which can be done within 10 days of the update. For users who exceed this timeframe, a clean reinstallation of Windows remains the only option.
Update 24H2 brings many improvements, including AI-based features, but it needs fixing. Many complain that the patch even breaks more than it fixes, and forums are overflowing with posts from angry users. Usually, the company recommends installing patches and updates as soon as possible, but this time, many decided to hold off because Windows 11 24H2 was a real disaster.
