Former FlipSid3 Tactics, Natus Vincere, and Gambit Esports coach Mykhailo “kane” Blagin was recently signed on trial by Esports Club Kyiv. On the same day, Vladyslav “bondik” Nechyporchuk and Vladyslav “Kvem” Korol joined the team’s roster on ESEA, although only the latter has officially been announced. The two Ukrainians were thought to replace Vadim “Flarich” Karetin and Oleksandr “Smash” Turchyn, who were sidelined at the end of August. EC Kyivâs new coach did an interview with Cybersport.Metaratings.ru, where he spoke about the team’s goals and denied the rumors about bondik joining the roster.
What will your coaching relationship with Roman “WOLF” Mykhailenko be like?
– Roma is helping me assimilate and get to know the team better. There is enough work for both of us due to the intensity of the schedule.
bondik became your fifth player on the new roster. Share your opinion about older players because Alexey “OverDrive” Birukov said it would be better to take young players into such squads.
– bondik was on a trial period. This is fake information, as there’s only one change in the line-up now â Kvem replacing Flarich. My opinion: young players really have an advantage over older players because of the speed of their decision-making and their perception of information, itâs an inescapable reality. But older players with many victories under their belts are very valuable.
What are the immediate goals of the team?
– Weâre playing several online events, but the team has clear potential and goals. We need to go up the HLTV rating and get closer to the best teams in the world.
You said that you have already started to study English. How is it going? And how seriously were you ready to coach English-speaking team?
– I have made progress with my English, but I feel like I still need another six months of studying. I was serious about continuing my coaching career, I have much to prove. A lot of people still believe that I am untenable as a coach. But I’m sure I’m one of the best.
