As expected, Riot Games finally released some information about what we can expect in Season 2 Act 2. The latest developer video reveals a lot of information about everything we can expect. Hosted by Paul “Pabro” Bellezza, Brett “Frost” Freeman, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, and Drew “justacapbybara” Levin, the video covers a lot of interesting topics, so let’s dive in.
League of Legends Season 2 Act 2 Video Overview
The four names mentioned above go over a lot of different things in the video. They share their thoughts about Yunara, the upcoming LoL champion, the Spirit Blossom-themed map that we’ll see in ARAM, as well as the in-client meta games.
There are tons of new things we expect to see in League of Legends Season 2 Act 2, so here’s an overview of some of them:
- New Spirit Blossom-themed map, Koeshin’s Crossing, and even the Butcher’s Bridge will make their way into ARAM. Once you’re loading into an ARAM game, the game will choose a random map between Koeshin’s Crossing, Butcher’s Bridge, and the Howling Abyss.
- All new maps will include minor changes so that people have more fun playing.
- A new feature called Champion Cards will be introduced. According to the developers, it will be tested and will be an alternative to re-rolls. Once the feature becomes available, players can choose two Champion Cards, and the card that does not get picked will be sent to the bench. This means that other players can access it.
- The idea of all these ARAM changes is to make it more exciting but keep the mode’s core as it is.
- As we already revealed at Blix.gg, Yunara will become available soon, probably a couple of weeks down the road. We can also expect interesting collaborations between Yinara and Xin Zhao.
- There will be a “spiritual successor” to Spirit Bonds that will allow players to befriend spirits. Keep in mind that the meta game will require League gameplay to progress.
- The people in the video said that the team will continue to add new meta-game formats and explore different options.
- There will be improvements to the griefing detection system. Based on the information, high-skilled players will be held to a higher standard than low-skilled players. The system will also receive updates to detect options, such as Anivia’s walls, for example.
- Those who are classified as “repeated offenders” in ranked matches will be in an “aggressive” rank queue.
- Riot will also add a completely new feature that will terminate games where players have extreme game-ruining behavior.
- There will be updates to the Honor system, which should “align with players’ expectations”.
Alongside those things, LoL fans should know that MSI will start on June 27 and will have the Pick Ems for the first time ever. All skins that the winning team will use during the MSI finals will go on sale a week after the final.
Also, as mentioned, Riot will release a throwback-style skin for Viktor that will make the champion look the same as before.
