100 Thieves to Leave LTA North At the end of 2025
There are always rumours within the LoL community about a team leaving a given division, but this time, it will likely happen. There was an announcement from Riot Games and 100Thieves yesterday, saying that the organization will leave LTA North. According to the information, this will be at the end of 2025, and both parties have found a new long-term partner for the 2026 competitive season.
100Thieves said that they’ve made a business decision to sell their franchise slot in the LCS. Following that decision, the organization and Riot Games agreed that 100Thieves would become a Provisional Guest Team until Riot found a way of securing a long-term partner. Well, it seems like this finally happened, and Riot Games decided to move forward with the new team.
Why Did 100Thieves Make This Decision?
Needless to say, 100Thieves’ decision shocked the LoL community, and people were interested in learning what caused it. Consequently, there was a special Q&A with the community. According to it, all of the staff were informed about this decision, and they will become free agents once 2025 comes to an end.
Interestingly, it seems like the Esports organization is interested in returning to the LTA in the future. With that said, the people behind it will “need more time to evaluate everything”, so we will probably have to wait a while before it happens.
During the Q&A, someone asked if 100 Thieves would shift towards other Esports titles (although LoL was at its core), and the organisation answered that having multiple esports titles means paying attention to them equally. In other words, it is unlikely that 100T will shift focus towards other games.
The Q&A ended with a message to the community, which said that 100T thanks everyone for their loyalty and passion.
