Worlds 2025 is over, and T1 won yet another event, but the thing that everyone is interested in right now is League of Legends 2. According to a post from a Chinese LoL insider, League of Legends 2 could become available in 2026. Here’s what we know so far.
League of Legends 2 in 2026 – Myth or Reality?

The Chinese insider Summer Pack mentioned on Weibo, the Chinese platform, that League of Legends 2 might become available in the second half of 2026. The post was deleted relatively quickly after it was posted, but many people took screenshots and fueled the speculation.
If we analyze the post, we will see that the new game should preserve the core gameplay of League of Legends. With that said, it will have a complete technical redesign and will run on a new engine. We should also see rewritten code, overhauled graphics, and even a rebalanced roster of champions. The post also mentioned that some abilities will be refined and have more fluid combat.
Riot Games will be focusing on performance optimization and visual enhancements. In other words, we will see something similar to what happened with Dota 2’s new engine a few years ago.
Riot Games’s Official Statement
As much as we wanted to say that Riot Games made a statement about the news, this is not the case. The company has not confirmed or denied the rumours yet, but we would not be surprised if this happens soon.
To be fair, League of Legends definitely needs a refresh. The game has been around since 2009 and has not really received any big graphic updates. Many people would agree that LoL feels a bit outdated at this point, so everyone from the community will be happy to see the new graphics.
