Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng is one of the big names in League of Legends that people probably remember. He played for various teams over the years and eventually decided to retire. However, it seems like this decision did not last long.
Doublelift is Back
Following his retirement (twice) in 2023, Doublelift is now back in the professional League of Legends scene. He will play alongside several other retired players and streamers. The list includes the likes of:
- Ashkan “TF Blkade” Homayouni
- Vincent “Biofrost” Wang
- Mingyi “Spica” Lu
- Eugene “Pobelter” Park
According to credible sources, the new League of Legends team will try its luck in the upcoming 2025 NACL qualifiers.
Players will notice that the new team does not have a dedicated coach. This is on purpose because the new team decided to try to invite guest coaches when needed.
As for Doublelift himself, he was a key part of many big teams over the years. League of Legends fans may remember that he played for names like TSM, 100 Thieves, and more. During his career, the player won the LCS, as well as the NA LCS trophy, multiple times.
The new Team’s Ambitions
Some people tried asking Doublelift about his new team’s ambitions and whether they would try to compete for the big prizes. Surprisingly, the player said that he is not really interested in competing seriously. Instead, he wants to focus on building a family.
Keep in mind that the new League of Legends team does not have a name yet, so players need to come up with something. Since the team will compete in the NACL Open Qualifiers, we expect to see a lot of games, and all of them will be broadcast live. Make sure to follow Blix.gg for more information.
