Europe has always been one of the best regions in the world in terms of League of Legends. However, it seems like things are slowly changing because North America has officially overtaken Europe, according to the most recent League of Legends power ranking by Riot Games. Here’s everything we know.
North America Overtakes Europe in the League of Legends Power Ranking
The main reason why NA is now above Europe in League of Legends is because of what happened at the MSI 2025. People following the event know that the LEC teams have dreadful results. The LTA North, on the other hand, is doing alright, which puts them one step ahead of LEC.
Those who are following the League of Legends scene in North America have been on the rise for some time now. After the first split of the year, the gap between LTA North and LEC was thin. This led to the events from a few days ago when LTA North officially overtook the LEC.
Some may not know, but the LoL power ranking feature uses a special model. The idea behind this is to take into account the results of big international competitions. In other words, the fact that G2 Esports and Movistar KOI were eliminated from MSI gave LTA North a lead in the overall ranking.
Speaking of the MSI 2025, all European teams are no longer a part of the competition.
What’s Next for the LTA North?
Considering the fact that North America is officially the more competitive region than Europe, we expect to see some changes. Prior to the MSI 2025, many people were unhappy that NA is getting fewer slots than EU for the MSI when it is the better region.
Now that this is official and LTA North is in 3rd place in the power rankings, we expect to see some changes. Riot Games will most likely consider this and give LTA North an additional slot for next year’s MSI or this year’s Worlds.
Speaking of the MSI, we have another week full of action, so make sure to follow Blix.gg for more details. FlyQuest will try to continue its dominance, but the team will have to face some of the best in the world.
