While the rosters for next year’s LEC have been slowly pouring in, the biggest question of 2025 was the three-timers potential swaps.
The 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship is shaping up to be one of the best yet, with less Bo1’s, an extra international event to fight for, as well as Fearless Draft. The teams are also forming and reforming, with almost all the LEC organizations making changes to their rosters.
One of the biggest questions was whether G2 Esports was going to stay together. The five players have been competing together for two full seasons now, and while they had immense domestic success – winning all three LEC Splits as well as the Season Finals in 2024 – they could rarely find wins internationally. Some changes were due, and the Kings of Europe delivered
G2 Esports 2025 Roster
While there were some rumors of the members that were leaving and those that would take their place, G2 Esports waited until this week to confirm our suspicions. The members of the G2 Esports League of Legends team are:
- Sergen “BrokenBlade” Celik
- Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan
- Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther
- Steven “Hans sama” Liv
- Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis
G2 Esports said goodbye to support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle at the end of November, while Martin “Yike” Sundelin left the organization officially on the 3rd of December. While neither of them has a confirmed new squad, some talks are going around that Yike will join French squad Karmine Corp as their jungler, while Mikyx is set to join forces with Elias “Upset” Lipp as the botlane duo of Fnatic’s new push into 2025. So far, neither team has made anything official, and while leaks like this usually have some merit, anything can change until it’s confirmed.
The new members of G2
The two players joining the most successful team European League of Legends has ever seen are great additions. Labrov is switching after 2 years in the botlane of Team BDS, where he was one of the most stable players. While he is not known for being the flashiest support in the League, he had some incredible moments with Blitzcrank and Rell last year on the side of Yoon “Ice” Sang-hoon, the Swiss squad’s Korean ADC. With his 8 years of experience and multiple finals appearances, Labrov fits right in with the experienced roster of G2 Esports.
However, the new member that everyone is the most excited about is the 20-year-old rising star, Skewmond. The Frenchman debuts in the LEC in the best team, which is already a huge accomplishment. But if you kept up with rumors regarding the LEC transfer market, you might’ve heard that Skewmond was one of the players that almost every team wanted.
The young jungler has played for organizations such as Aegis and Team BDS, spending the entirety of last season on the latter’s Academy roster. He made the LFL finals in the Spring and managed to win the Summer Playoffs, as well as make it to the top of the EMEA Masters 2024 Summer tournament. He was a cornerstone of the success of BDSA, running circles around Vitality.
SkewMond is a beast in solo queue as well. A few days after the start of Split 3 of 2024, he was already rank one on the EU West server, and had a 250 LP lead over the 2nd placed player. He’s currently sitting at 1887 LP in Challenger with an almost 60% win rate on his highest-ranked account, so he doesn’t stop grinding.
Yike also started out as a rookie alongside the big names like Caps and BrokenBlade, and grew to be one of the most capable junglers in the LEC. SkewMond also has something that Yike didn’t have as much of: hype, which can be either a blessing or a curse. He has been hailed as one of the best rookies the LEC has seen for quite a while (alongside Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert, Karmine Corp’s new ADC), and is said to have the potential to be the best jungler in the LEC. With great laners and a botlane to fall back to, SkewMond won’t have a hard time finding lanes to gank.
G2 Esports has shaped up to be a contender for the best team in the LEC – again. They will face off against the 9 other teams in the EMEA tournament starting January 18 in the Winter Season!
