The League of Legends World Championship 2025 will be this year’s crowning event of LoL’s esports. It will take place in Chengdu, China, between October 14 and November 9, and will bring together 17 teams, including four teams from the LCK.
Speaking of the LCK, this is the most competitive League of Legends region, and for a good reason. Home to some of the best teams, the LCK is the big favorite to win this year’s Worlds. With that said, let’s look at everything we need to know about the tournament.

The Legacy of the LCK
No one can deny that Korea’s dominance in League of Legends has existed for over a decade. In fact, the LCK has set the standards in this game, especially during Worlds. From teams like T1 and Gen. G, the country has some of the best in the world.
Having said that, Worlds 2025 may be slightly different because the field has never looked more competitive. While the LCK remains the favorite, China’s LPL is better than ever and can definitely upset the Koreans.
LCK’s Worlds 2025 Breakdown – Team by Team
Unlike all other regions, the LCK will have a total of 4 representatives. One of them is the MSI Champion (Gen.G), whereas the rest will secure a slot following the end of the regular season. We do not know their names yet, but we can make reasonable predictions about the squads we believe will end up there.
Gen. G
Even if you don’t follow LoL’s pro scene regularly, you’ve heard of Gen. G. This is the best Dota 2 team in the world right now because it won MSI, as well as the Esports World Cup 2025. The team seems one step ahead of everyone else and is the only LoL squad (as of now) that will surely attend Worlds 2025.
T1
It’s no surprise that T1 would be one of the favorites. The team will enter Worlds 2025 as one of the reigning champions with an unparalleled legacy. Considering the fact the team has 5 World Championship and two MSI titles, it puts them in an excellent position.
T1’s recent form proves that the squad is in a solid position. Even though it did not win the MSI, T1 performed really well. In fact, the team also achieved somewhat good results at the Esports World Cup 2025, but in the end, Gen. G won the competition.
It is just a matter of time before T1 earns its spot at Worlds 2025.
Hanwha Life Esports
Although Hanwha may not have the same legacy as T1, the team has undergone a remarkable evolution. Nowadays, Hanwha has one of the most competitive teams in the LCK. The team won the inaugural Fist Stand Tournament, and it seems to have achieved solid results across all tournaments.
Even when playing against some of the best teams in the LCK, HLE showed fight. The matches against T1 were close, proving that the team can bring down some of the best in the world. Overall, Hanwha Life Esports will step into Worlds with the needed momentum, firepower, and confidence.
Nongshim RedForce
The last team from the LCK that will most likely make it to Worlds 2025 is Nongshim RedForce. Also known as Team Dynamics, the team has proven several times that it is one of the big names in Korea. Although the squad has struggled to maintain form, it has a very interesting roster that can help it secure the last spot for Worlds 2025.
Thanks to Peanut and other top-tier players, Nongshim RedForce has the needed experience. We just have to wait and see if the team lives up to the expectations.
How Does the LCK Stack up Against Other Regions
No one can deny that the LCK is League of Legends’s strongest region. However, this doesn’t mean the rest are not potential favorites. Let’s see how it stacks up against them.
- LPL – If there’s one region that can stand up against Korea, it is China, the LPK is LCK’s eternal rival, so we expect an epic clash between the two.
- LEC – Europe hasn’t been doing that well recently, but generally speaking, LEC does well against the top-tier LCK teams.
- LTA North & South – These two regions are rarely favored. However, they are capable of pulling off a big upset.
- LCP – This is definitely an interesting region that deserves more attention, especially when it comes to CTBC Flying Oyster. The team has proven it can bring down some of the best in the world, including LCK powerhouses.
Predictions
Considering the potential LPL squads, we expect to see at least one (if not more) teams in the Semifinals. Anything less than that would be considered a failure.
Gen.G is in excellent form after securing countless consecutive wins and trophies in 2025. The team can definitely bring the trophy from China to Seoul, and judging by the odds, it seems like most fans agree.
Closing Thoughts
The LCK will not just send any teams to Worlds; the region will release all of its titans. Every single team has a huge fanbase hungry for dominance, so we expect all of them to step up their game. As Worlds 2025 unfolds, Korea will once again be at the heart of the event. Make sure to follow us for more details.
