One of the things we’ve all been waiting for is the arrival of League of Legends 2, but it seems like this is not happening any time soon. Riot Games has officially confirmed that we won’t see that. Instead, the devs will focus on a major overhaul of the current game.
No League of Legends 2
Riot’s team decided to share their long-term plans for our favorite game and address some of the things we’ve been waiting for. Perhaps the most important news is that the developers will NOT offer League of Legends 2. Instead of developing a new game from scratch, Riot will work on a completely new game client. Based on the information, the new client will be integrated into the game and we won’t have to use a separate application to open it.
Outside of that, Riot Games also prepared a large-scale visual update for Summoner’s Rift. The changes will go beyond visuals because we should see a lot more new things. For example, we should see new runes and specific elements that will make match preparation clearer and more user-friendly.
Another new thing we will see is the focus on new players. We actually expected that to happen because Riot wants to make the game more user-friendly and welcoming. We would probably see a fully redesigned tutorial.
What’s Next?
According to Riot’s announcement, we should see more information about the upcoming changes between MSI and Worlds. This means that all of the changes should become available in 2027, not 2026. This disappointed some League of Legends fans because many of them were hoping to see the changes just a couple of months from now.
All in all, LoL definitely needs an update because the game has been around for years. We can’t wait to see how it will change, so follow us for more details.
